    Hush Puppies TSV 20/09/24

I think they look lovely, but I can't really justify another pair of "biker" style boots.

Re: children’s shows. For the best part of the last two and a half years I’ve looked after my nieces little boy one morning a week. I started when he was a year old and obviously in that time he started talking and watching various shows. He would bring me the remote and ask me to put a certain...

    Household helpers TSV 21/09/24

I know I'm like a broken record on this. But if you need you dry laundry indoors, invest in a decent dehumidifier with a "laundry dry" setting. Chuck everything on hangers on a clothes horse, stick it on overnight and job done.

    Bowls are bowls ...

The current BA is probably too busy worrying about whether her dad’s overloaded balcony is going to fall off the side of his flat, to think up any original ideas for L&L.

    Flinty and Kangas

Just realised we don’t see the Attitudes range from Renee “I never check luggage” Greenstein any more either. I quite miss her showing us how to be a “wardrobe warrior” by shoving a selection of “buffet waistband” trousers and tops into a tote bag. I had a couple of pairs of her jeans which did...

    In Paris!!

I think Q only lasted about 4 or 5 years in France. Maybe the fashions were not “chic” enough.

    Oasis tickets!

Fortunately, this time I was ground level. The worse ones are the big arenas with the stepped seating. My knees protest loudly at the mere thought of them.

I would never buy anything in “gummie” form. I’d just see them as sweets and eat the lot in a day.

I’m just waiting to see how many times Toyah will mention her age and wait for the fawning comments. I’m hoping she’s voted out early, I really can’t take to her at all.

    Oasis tickets!

Another band I loved was Dr Hook. They had some wonderful songs and some very funny “rude” ones as well, such as Penicillin Penny and Gertrude the Groupie. Obviously the band split a long time ago and I think most have passed on. However the lead singer Dennis Loccoriere still tours with a new...

I shall resist. It’s bad enough now if I haven’t stacked them properly and open the cupboard. I can’t risk glass ones falling out and smacking me in the face.

    Oasis tickets!

I was very late to the party with The Stranglers, so never got to see the original line up. I obviously had heard stuff like Golden Brown, Peaches and No More Heroes but it wasn't until Mr MA chucked a couple of their CD's in the car that I really started to appreciate them. I'd always wanted...

    Oasis tickets!

I love Billy Joel’s music, but didn’t think I’d ever get to see him live. Then in 2016 he came over and did one show at Old Trafford and Mr MA very kindly stumped up for tickets even though it wasn’t really his type of music (he’s more into stuff like The The, Joy Division, Depeche Mode). It was...

"We all loved it" Tess is dreadful "presenter" and the reason I watch Strictly on fast forward.

Random musings and banter on TV

My mum would moan constantly about Eastenders and how depressing the story lines were. “Well, don’t watch it” said I. “Oh, I don’t know” she said, “ it’s nice to know someone’s having a worse day than me”.

    Unfunny comedians

I loved the earlier series’. Found them very funny, especially dopey Daisy, but can’t get on with them as a couple with kids. Think it was better when it was “will they, won’t they. Bit like Moonlighting back in the 80’s when Maddie and David got together. Ruined it.

Random musings and banter on TV

Used to watch Corrie many moons ago. But when I started shift work (before the days of streaming services/on demand etc) I couldn’t be ar**d to record it, so got out of the habit and became a “soap free” zone. Didn’t miss them at all. Only time I see soaps now is when visiting my mum and...

Didn’t see the show but just had a look at some items. Made with recycled brass.
