I need you on those phones

I haven't watched regularly for years and hardly ever switch on now, don't even know some of the newer presenters. Sometimes I buy from the website but rarely. When I started watching QVC (about 1999/2000) it was a bit like a favourite old aunt: someone who was slightly dotty, occasionally...

What happened to the fashion expert?

Pub reggae singer meets Captain Birds Eye???

How much would you spend on "a beach coverup"

I don't 'do' beaches or pools either, unless it's out of season, getiing blown away or frozen, and walking the dog. So my idea of a beach cover-up would be a fleece or waterproof :sun: If the sun did make an appearance, a nice linen cardi/jumper would do...

What does your holiday wardrobe consist of?

It has always irritated me that QVC 'assumes' that we all go on the same sort of holiday! My idea of hell would be lounging by a pool and suffering extreme heat, and having to dress up. Each to their own, how about some jazzy wellies or decent walking boots???

What does your holiday wardrobe consist of?

If we go abroad, which isn't very often, it's mainly 'low' season for sightseeing, or related to OH's work, so comfy shoes, jeans, linen trousers and tops, light waterproof, fleece etc. Don't swim or lounge, so no swimwear at all. This country, pretty much the same (usually stay in a cottage)...

    Yankee candles, what's your fave?

Favourite is Evening Air but I think it's discontinued (haven't looked for a while). Also like Pink Sands, Pink Lady Slipper, and some of the Christmassy ones.

    Ahh to Ugh

I really like the Aah bra but I am a C cup, and can see that it might not be comfortable for larger sizes. I don't think it's right to sell it as suitable for 'all'. I wouldn't buy it from QVC anyway, as you can get the same thing much cheaper elsewhere!

    What's your QVC type?

I have to say that I rarely buy from QVC, I hardly ever watch it and dislike the new website intensely! Purchases now are usually things I've always used (ABC tea tree oil for example) or something (usually not expensive) bought to try out in response to a need (beauty/kitchen etc.) I also check...

Old jewellery brands that used to be on QVC...

I think they sold MINT fashion jewellery for a while, used to be able to buy it in some department stores...

The bug which has been going around QVC

Bensmum - I sympathise, I am very squeamish, not quite phobic, about sickness   Luckily I seem to have a strong stomach and haven't (so far!) caught the norovirus. Amazed at how many people don't wash their hands after going to the loo!!!!

Is Diet Chef worth the money

I would never use anything like Diet Chef and am really not a fan of 'ready meals'. Ok now and then but find them salty/sugary/fatty or just leave an aftertaste! Try to eat a piece of fruit if you're peckish, or crackers and small piece of cheese etc. Drink plenty of water. Cut down on portion...

    Ronni Nicole tsv

I can't remember EVER seeing such a hideous dress!!! The blue is a nice colour but the others are vile - the gold is insipid, the black looks like a stretchy bin liner and the silver like something left over from Blakes 7. You can see the 'line' of the inner lining, fabric is so thin and...

    Useless website

The old website wasn't perfect, but the new one is pants  Looking back at 'Items from the last week' is hit and miss, sometimes you see them, sometimes you just see the current show! The 'colour' buttons don't always work. It seems to repeat items in a list if you do a search. I...

    Centigrade TSV 30/10/12

Apparently, according to Glen the Guru, it gives you 'a little winter wonderland skating vibe' WTF  Not tempted - way too fussy and I hate fur, real or faux!!!!!

    Stocking Fillers

Oh Janie, how I agree with you!!!! Over the years I have come to, if not hate Christmas, then to feel grumpier and grumpier about it. If it started later and wasn't so 'in your face' and commercialised, I might be more tolerant. My family stopped trading gifts years ago, and more recently we...

QVC making a virtue out of necessity!

I really can't believe the price for the turkey!!!!!! In the past I have bought free-range Bronze turkeys from the local butcher. The farm they come from is 5 miles away. The birds are top-notch quality, they are dry plucked (not dropped in boiling water to remove feathers) and are hung for 10...

    Titanic jewellery

I have a particular interest in Titanic, as my grandfather was a steward on liners of that period, and could easily have been on it (he wasn't!). Titanic memorabilia has been around for years. There are those items such as postcards, posters, and things actually from the ship such as menu cards...

    Yellow hair....an observation

Agree with the above post. Especially when your eyebrows are still dark! I would look ridiculous with blonde hair, I have to have my 'George Woodcock' brows shaped every couple of months, they are still dark even though my hair is greying (if I let it :sun:)

In the Kitchen TSV Sun 17th June 2012 - Ninja?

I've ordered the TSV, first time I've bought anything from QVC for about 6 months! I have an old, cumbersome food processor which is just too much of a pfaff - this one looks quite neat and does all the necessary. My old one is useless at small quantities too, the Ninja looks OK. I make lots of...
