You can connect the iPad to the computer and transfer stuff, probably a tiny bit more complicated that just Drag and Drop though. I've transferred stuff recorded from my TV tuner to the Pad to watch.

Never sure if they still do Archos, wasn't in the Brand list last time I looked.

Don't have any experience with Fixal but I was pondering on getting some Pinflair Gel Glue to do some similar things. Martyn Parker fixed his shower with it, it seems it's multipurpose but sold on C & C.
