Agree with you on the freeview bit and add that if your local transmitter is still doing analogue you may suffer a bit of degradation. When ours went fully digital, picture quality improved tremendously on freeview. Haven't noticed any difference in output quality from any channels though. Oh...

Which is how the majority of television people work. They just about get a fixed fee for doing the work and all the costs come out of that fee. That and its a tax friendly situation for all involved as you are paying a fixed price for a service by a contractor.
