Why has the Milk Musk gone down in size from 300ml to 290ml I wonder? The one I have in my bathroom, bought about a year ago is still 300ml.

Oh!!! That is interesting, as I really like Milk Musk. I wonder if they are going to make all the bath/shower and body lotion small but charge the same price?
Some years ago I bought a lot of MB from their own site with some discounts and included for free were gift boxes, ribbons and little gift bags. The presentation was outstanding. I think if you buy things from the shop they still do free giftwrapping (or maybe you have to pay now) but purchases always look gorgeous.
TSVs now barely have one box and then the presenters tell you to stuff it with tissue paper and put a very stingy one item in there once you've "sifted and gifted".

No, they don't do gift wrapping or charge to do it. What happens is you get an MB brown bag with your purchase wrapped in tissue paper, there is brown ribbon attached to the bag anyway. They do that all year around. Now, they ask if you want a gift card which looks like a post card put in the bag? Oh, last year just after Xmas in their sale I did get a gold sticker on the outside of the bag which said Love From Molton Brown.
How very interesting. I thought they had retired Milk Musk for one thing. Also, I assume the 290ml is in a 290ml bottle and not just 10ml left out of a 300ml bottle. So why would they manufacture a different size for just one fragrance? I foresee a reduction across the board!

Yes, that is what I meant, just like food and sweets they reduce the size of the product but have the same price.
Milk Musk was revamped this year but came back. I was told by an SA in one of their shops. I bought mine in one of their shops in the summer. That is the thing which miffs me off with MB they discontinue products but give no warning just one day no longer there. I still miss Sea Moss.

The Milk Musk is in a white bottle? So probably the same size for machining purposes, but not being clear, means the slight reduction of product not noticeable, if you hadn’t read label.
