I wanted this - - -

That is the MAIN THING I like about QVC, they show me items I knew nothing about beforehand.

BUT I wasn'r going to buy it because of the £5-95 PP.

Then I remembered I had a £5 off coupon by post a few days ago with a discount code.

So this would knock £5 off the £5-95 PP.

Ordered on-line but the code was not accepted, so then rang CS before placing the order.

They said the code could not be used because it was on advanced order!!!! WHAT A RIDICULOUS RULE.

So I now have a coupon that will expire before the advanced order takes place!

I asked if she could apply the £5 off code, but she said she couldn't, so then I asked if a supervisor could, otherwise I would cancel my order.

She then said that she could go even better, and cancel the PP altogether.

So my £5 coupon combined with a bit of palaver on the phone with CS has now actually saved me £5-95 and I will get the item I want. :)

BTW I checked prices on-line, they were all more expensive except for Argos (about the same) but I would then have a 2 hour bus trip to Argos to collect it, as they also charge PP otherwise. On the other hand, if they have a Black Friday deal it nay then be cheaper. I do watch a lot of DVDs and with this item I could watch them anywhere (I've recently bought the Star Trek : Picard seried but not got around to watching it yet)

I didn't think Lee Hohbein and the presenter had much rapport, and he kept shutting her up many times by saying "yeah yeah yeah" as if to dismiss what she was saying.

PS who was the presenter?

Well done.

They didn't mention it in the presentation I linked above, but nevertheless, it is still a ridiculous restriction.
they didnt in that one but in plenty of others they have also its because advanced orders count as a promoation (yes that sounds crazy i know) but its true for them so they will not allow 2 offers to be used to gether its a bit like the money off or easy pays as the easy pays count as an offer too

Well done, Strato. Perseverance pays. The outcome with different people in CS also really varies from person to person and call to call.
And it always helps if you are polite and pleasant. Nothing fires up the determination to thwart you like going in all guns blazing, so to speak. I’m quite sure our Strato had done his homework and kept his head.

I agree. I would add that it helps if you sound really disappointed with whatever problem you are calling about and try to make them feel a bit sorry for you to get them on your side.

Strato, I’ve just clocked what it is you have ordered. I bought a portable DVD player (from Amazon) earlier this year so I can watch the odd DVD in bed (or on the rare occasion I go away). The quality of the picture is nowhere near as good as the player I’ve got downstairs and you have to adjust the screen carefully to get the right angle, otherwise it has this silvery shadow thing going on. But it’s absolutely fine for dramas and the like so I am happy with it. Will be interested to hear what you make of yours.

I was tempted by this to use my £5 coupon, but didn't really want 2 - - -

So that's £25-85 for 2.

I just ordered one from Ebay, it looks exactly the same, cost me £3-47 with free PP !
Oh, I’ve got one of those - from Amazon 3 or 4 years ago. I think I paid about £9 so you got a bargain there. And the QVC duo was a rip-off, but nobody will be surprised by that, eh?
