My daughter loves the cleansing balm and the pcmc. Can anyone suggest a good alternative to the Elemis balm please? I'm not buying her this TSV, for the first time in years!! Go me!!

The Emma Hardie balm is excellent Cashers but it's expensive. I usually wait till Black Friday and cross my fingers that I can get a good price on it.
The Aldi version is really, really good as well but I'm not sure if it's a regular stocked item though, but it's definitely worth keeping a look out.
And The Body Shop Chamomile balm is really very good too.

I won’t be buying this. Elemis are far too pricey for me and there are far bette products on the market. And I can’t stand Keeley.
Me & @AndiK are going to hold you to this Claire 😂😂😂
As soon as I saw that from Claire, I thought, “Here we go - this is how she starts out …”. Mid-afternoon, she’ll be “I have just checked the stash and I’ve got enough to last me till 2029 so that confirms it” and some time tomorrow, it will be “I just realised I’ve nearly finished the pot I’m using and another one in the cupboard is only a mini …. but I still don’t like Keeley so I am not buying….”. Trouble is, our Claire has got 12 days to talk herself round. I’ll give it till about Tuesday next week when we will get, “I’ve just found a pound coin in my winter coat pocket so I‘m going to treat myself”.

That's interesting Claire. I've never tried the LE balm so I might have to invest in some, just for research purposes obviously 😂😂
You know it makes sense…
I got it when it was discounted and then boots had £10 off LE. So I payed £19 for it. Went back a few times…..
With Aldi’s version so good I’m not prepared to pay full price for these items anymore.

I’ve just ordered some more of Superdrug’s Optimum collagen
50ml day cream, 50ml night cream, 30ml serum for £22 the lot
Also bought a 15ml eye cream from same range to try. £7.50.
Free p&p too. This doesn’t bring me out in a rash/spots like Elemis does. It’s also a damn lot cheaper.
Elemis brings me out in spots to. I am a lot older now and my skin has become much drier but I think its the heavy load of perfume that Elemis use.

Lol…😂😂

Actually, I am almost finished my Elemis stash! Last day cream and just one night cream, which I will use alongside the LE superskin this winter.
I do like the Elemis cleansing balm, and that mask is superb but I’m really not happy to continue to spend my hard earned pension on a company that thinks it can flog its loyal customers old stock and get away with it. And Keeley is so ****** annoying…. And incredibly patronising.

So no Andi, I’m standing firm this time!
But I am really glad I did get the LE set…such great prices and the extra C&P will substitute for the cleansing balm until Aldi get it back in..

While I think I probably slightly prefer the EH balm to the Aldi one I don't think the EH one lasts as long once it has been opened.
I have never had an EH 100ml tub that hasn't started to crystalise before I get to the end of it but I've never once had that happen with Aldi's version.
EH had a brilliant price on the 200ml pot a few years ago but I didn't get it as I knew it just wouldn't be worth it.

But talking of EH, I actually tried this a couple of years ago and it's probably my favourite. Again, it's definitely overpriced IMO but I do buy when it's on offer. It's basically a gel version of the balm and I really like it.

That’s very interesting….
I found the EH tub crystalised, and people were advising to pop it in the microwave…not at that price I won’t! Shouldn’t have to do that for a premium product.

I don’t like cleansing balm full stop regardless of brand. Did try the Elemis one, spots spots and more spots, not good on a 70 year old. Went in bin. Tried a few other brands (cheaper) all in bin.

I use Garnier micellar water these days.

Elemis is very highly scented and gave me a lot of breakouts. My skin has dried out and I dont get as many but I still get some. I never get spots with Liz Earle ever.

I must be the only person here who doesn’t see the point of buying these expensive cleansers. I can obviously see differences and like some more than others but as long as it removes makeup and gunk, smells nice and makes my skin feel comfortable and pleasant for whatever comes next, I’m happy. I don’t have an outright favourite and I like to try different ones, but my needs are met by the ones that come in beauty sets, bags and advent calendars, which are great because they only work out a few quid each. I’ve never thought one was so amazing I had to go and pay £40/£50 or whatever they are for a full size pot.

Having shown I am a beauty heathen, I do however recommend the Boots No7 cleansing balm. Someone posted an offer on here a few years ago where it was reduced to about half price and then you could also use the 3 for 2 offer, so each pot worked out about £4 each! My view could have been affected by the bargain price but I really liked it and would definitely buy it again. I don’t need cleanser at the moment myself but it’s currently £11.95 for a 125ml pot and again on 3 for 2 (as No7 seems permanently to be but not complaining!). Actually, they keep changing their ranges - the one I had was Radiant Results but the one here sounds similar and gets excellent reviews if my opinion means nothing after what I said about cleansers generally!

I’ll check it out in Boots later but it was a whiteish cream which was slightly oily but not as thick and greasy as I find Elemis and Emma Hardie, for example. It didn’t smell as strong either, just clean and pleasant (smells are important to me).

It’s very heavily perfumed…. Another reason I’m walking away.
That is main reason I have tried very little Elemis, everything seems to have fragrance and in many items it is quite high up ingredients list too!!!
