Yet MORE cookware, each brand supposedly better than the last brand they had on (usually only a few days earlier lol).

I bought an expensive Le Crueset ALUMINIUM fry pan not long ago, you can't even fry an egg in it!!! The base is not flat, so all the oil is around the edge like a moat.

Wow. I've used Circulon frying pans for years now, but they are the older type with concentric circles shaped into the base and I don't think they do them any more. Try Harts of Stur for a good selection of brands. I buy a lot of their kitchen stuff and delivery is excellent.

The pan has warped. That shouldn't happen. Can you get in touch with le Cruset for a refund?

I had a non-stick pan from QVC years ago. Within a few months all the coating came off. I asked QVC for a returns form, they said NO as it's past the (then) 30 days. I explained that it was faulty. They still said no. I dug out Martin Lewis's SADFART list, rang back, quoted it and got a returns label.

How old is the pan, Strato?

I’ve used a non stick saucepan for 10 years. I use it to do everything in it, barring baking cakes 😉 (which I don’t do anyway.) I use it for boiling, frying, steaming etc. The non stick is still good with no flaking at all. It cost £6.99 from Home Bargains. That’s the reason I don’t bother to buy “designer” brands. When it eventually gives up the ghost, I’ll buy another cheap one.

You can be lucky with cheap non stick, but I've had black flakes in my scrambled eggs too many times. Perhaps it matters how you wash them. I'm not too careful with my pots and pans.

What did people do before there were non stick pans? Lots of soaking pots in the kitchen sink, I imagine.

I bought a Flavourstone cook anything pan years ago and it is truly non stick. Even Mr CC couldn't wreck it. Then when I wanted to buy a full set they seemed to be discontinued so I bought a set of Copperstone pans/frying pans and they too are really good. Totally non stick and really easy to clean anything off with just one of those non abrasive sponges. They weren't cheap but I doubt I'll ever need to buy any more pans in my lifetime.

I don't think it's warped, it has always been like it.

Will try and contact them.

I'm sure it was this year, will have to check

PS This site is so slow for me that I hardly ever come on to it these days, about 5 minutes just to load a post.
