So the Greed which they say is award winning, is really cheap rubbish
When I hopped on two three days back Peter S was flogging this. He said something like this in a very excited voice ...No way are those burgers cooked. View attachment 30102
I think you would need to ask yourself some serious questions if the value of the people to you that you were buying a special gift for, was three bottles of ‘tribute’ perfume for £23.98.. What substandard, parsimonious world do this well-heeled shopping television presenters think their potential customers live in?
Well I suppose to give IW credit the Timeless Oud is £14.99 in Debenhams, eBay, elsewhere, so their £11.99 was reasonable. So the Greed which they say is award winning, is really cheap rubbish

The Americans, right, the Americans are going crazy for this, right. It's THEE number one cooking accessory in America right now!
My immediate thought was first off, that'll be an unverified lie (it being the number one cooking accessory.) I also thought, who CARES if Americans think it's a great product? Absolutely no disrespect to them, but I wouldn't be any more excited about a product just because Americans think it's great.
Yet another sales technique stuck in the past, when even the mention of 'this comes from America' would indeed make some shoppers think 'oh wow, I'm buying one!'
Interesting. What is the balance between getting the grill plates hot enough to char the exterior, while the microwave cooks the contents.
Don't want to overcook the innards while trying to grill the outsides.
One tip to try is pre-heat the plates for 3 minutes before you put the food on.
Everything done on the cheap. People dressing up as cooks. Remblance and Stewart would struggle to win a Pot Noodle championship.
There was a local burger bar that used to specialise in pink burgers. They got closed down by Food Standards. They fought the case but lost as the judge ruled they were selling uncooked meat.Absolutely agree. All supermarket ready made burgers say 'Cook until no pink remains'.
Joe said once they were out and he cut one in half 'Ah it's a bit pink in the middle, but that's perfectly OK'.
Well its not is it.
This is all coming from allegedly how fantastic these items are and how fast they can cook things.
Food takes time and enough heat to be properly cooked.
TBH most of the food cooked looked pretty rank.
I noticed Of the Masons didn't sample the burgers.
I did have to persevere and fiddle with timings for some time with mine. My microwave is 900 watts and quite recent so maybe that does make a difference. I do quite like it though and probably use it 2-3 times per week (when I remember!! ).The one I have states 2.5 mins preheat. I did check the temp with a thermometer and the plates were around 100c at that point. Not sure if its advisable to go beyond the preheat time from manufacturer.
Think my microwave is likely 600 watts or so, I usually add an extra minute or three for anything I reheat in it. It is old by anyone's standards (early 80's) and the plastic panel is yellow, but its pretty clean and rust-free so I stick with it. More power might yield better results.
Wanted to try out a cheaper option and see how it went, as with all these gadgets we buy them, try once and they go to that cupboard of shame.
Has to be said the flavour of the sausages yesterday was spot on and cooked how I like them - Lidl deluxe cumberland they were.
+1 any cooked meat that's pink is no good for me - unless its ham. If I ever go out and have a beef roast I always ask for the outside slices.I’m a real philistine when it comes to meat. Slightest bit of pink it goes back in the oven
Never order steak in a restaurant as if you ask it for well done it’s either burnt or brown on the outside and raw in the centre. And don’t get me started on Beef Wellington!

It's lasted you well. What make is it? And with it being early 80s, does it have a turntable? It is old by anyone's standards (early 80's) and the plastic panel is yellow, but its pretty clean and rust-free so I stick with it.
I have to admit I always like meat well done. tbh I couldn't care less if e.g. steak tastes better if it's rare or medium, give me it well done every time!+1 any cooked meat that's pink is no good for me - unless its ham. If I ever go out and have a beef roast I always ask for the outside slices.
I do remember once sending back a steak and asking them to butterfly it to cook the inside quicker.
