I bought one from Lakeland two years ago. I use it all the time. I put it on overnight when the electricity is cheaper and it’s usually dry in the morning. Summertime I don’t usually put the heating element on as it dries without it. The only thing I struggle with is drying bedding so that goes in the tumble dryer. Towels I partially dry then finish off in the tumble dryer as it fluffs them up better.

If it's a heated clothes airer I bought one a while back when it was a TSV and it was rubbish. I rarely send things back but as I don't have a tumble drier I thought this would help. Clothes just took ages to dry (all day and then weren't properly dry) and it took up a lot of room. When the Evri guy came to pick it up he said he had a van full of them going back to QVC.

I did hear though that the Lakeland one was much better and had good reviews. I do have one of these and it's really good for light cotton things, takes a long time for heavier items.

I know I'm like a broken record on this.
But if you need you dry laundry indoors, invest in a decent dehumidifier with a "laundry dry" setting.
Chuck everything on hangers on a clothes horse, stick it on overnight and job done.

I bought a Meaco dehumidifier last year and it was brilliant over the winter months. It has a 6 hour laundry drying more - and it works! And somehow the house seems warmer when its on. The water it collects is amazing. Totally recommend too.

Love my Lakeland one can’t do without it … if it conked out one day I’d try that one

Its a life saver for sure in winter

Think I'll just stop washing stuff. It's a PITA anyway

I've a meaco as well, best thing I did buying that house a lot dryer/warmer and the laundry setting is great hang mine on an indoor dryer stood in the bath shut the door job done.

I bought this last year as a TSV. Awful. The plastic melted at the top and wires were exposed. Got it collected. Also way bigger than I thought it would be

That was made for QVC and looks like this one is too. Same photos and set up so I wonder if they just switched manufacturers due to safety concerns….

I noticed none of the demos said what happened to the water - does it drip down onto the floor or what? Surely a drip tray is needed?

Just some feedback someone might find useful. I’ve had the Lakeland version for years, with the cover. A bit fiddly to load up but I thought it was a help as I didn’t have a tumble dryer. However, when I started cutting down on heating a few years on, when energy prices soared , I came to realise it’s the background heating in your room that is the main contributor to the drying process. I read reviews on Lakeland and even found a response from Lakeland to a customer complaint saying just this . Ok, if you’ve got some lightweight things to dry but if you’re looking at regular loads, drying in an unheated room, I would not recommend it. It might be cheap per hour but last winter I was leaving it on for 12-15 hours at a time with less than satisfactory results.

I bought a second Ebac dehumidifier last year, my first one lasted 20 years. British made and last years.

Snap, I replaced my yellow EBac last year. I had the original dehumidifier for years as well. A lot of my husband’s workwear cannot go in a tumble dryer so we opted for the EBac and it turned out to be one of our best decisions, I just put it on the clothes setting…simple.

Another who does the dehumidifier method, mines a Meaco, it's a very small bathroom so we hang the clothes above the bath and dried within a few hours ,no need for a dryer. Bedding and towels slightly different of course but still a standard airer with dehumid near by.

Mine's a Meaco, too, and I also notice how warm the room feels after I've had it on. Where all the water comes from, even when I don't have clothes to dry, never ceases to amaze me. Just after I first got it, I had it on daily and the container was full of water for weeks on end. Eventually it stopped and at that stage it was at the number they recommend it shouldn't go below, so it did its job well. All you have to do is remember to empty the tank every day.
