When did Pedro win a BAFTA? He's just said he has.
I looked into this a while back - I couldn’t find any BAFTA in his name at all. It was just possible that a show on which he was working had won one (even that wasn’t completely clear to me from the BAFTA site, but it’s my best guess.)

BAFTA’s site lets you search at this link

awards.bafta.org
awards.bafta.org

Ive searched ‘Peter Simon’ and nothing comes up, so I guess it can’t have been an award given to him, perhaps as you say one for the show itself.
Going Live got a BAFTA in 1993, but it was for graphics.
Live and Kicking got one in 1999, but awarded to Martin Hughes, Lucy Bowden, and Angela Sharp.

So I’m not sure what his BAFTA actually was.
B Baffled
A And
F Fairly
T Terrible
A Always
Maybe?

Peter's intro's seem to be falling flat these days. No one applauds him as he walks on to the catwalk, yesterday they faded his intro music completely down as i watched him awkwardly appear on the catwalk greeted by a silent studio. I don't think these intros are needed these days. They were fun on bid tv.

No. I don’t believe the Moon Landings were genuine. Though, didn’t Buzz Aldrin lamp somebody who came up to him and told him that.
I can't believe such a huge conspiracy would have survived for half a century and more. There are pictures of the machinery left by the landings on the moon's surface. Are they too fake?

However, it now seems extremely difficult for them to even launch a rocket successfully with modern technology and the thought of landing people on the moon again let alone Mars seems unlikely to me. Although I'm all for them sending up Jeff Bezos or Elon Musk in their own spacecraft and giving it a try.

Perhaps they could send Mike of the masons and Peter Simon up in the fantastic kayak 🤣

Morning Everyone.

I saw the late presenter last night. Sell some plastic looking handbags, claiming them as Designer, they are not, If you went into a designer outlet, and said to them, I want a bag to work with this Designer Bag, they would say are you sure.

I saw that Eggy Pork in a cup thing, I don’t know what made him dream that up

I was in my bedroom last night, Dad popped his head around the door, and asked me what did I think I was watching, Found out he had watched Peter Simon on those as a kid himself, Dad said he was a bit of a character back then.

And turned over this morning, to find a presenter, who has clearly spent thousands on facial surgery selling beauty products, just grow old gracefully

You can tell she has had work done, as her neck look crappy

The acid test for me is the prolonged gap in any attempt to do similar again. I just cannot reconcile how, with the virtually non-existent computer capabilities that we had back in the late 1960s, such a mission could’ve been accurately monitored and controlled. The communication side of things with the technology of the time also baffles me how it could succeed.

Salter steamer bargain price on IW for £37.99 despatch 30th July. Or you can buy from TJC for £49.99 with a 40% discount if you use code SAVEBIG making it £29.99 with despatch 27th July.

So does that mean IW are buying from TJC and selling it on and making £8 profit on each item?
Not sure of the capacity etc for the one IW is selling, however Amazon selling 3 tier Salter steamers for around £20 or OnBuy £16. Granted these'll have p&p on top but even so.

IW, the bargains just keep on coming ... oops I mean never start ;)

IW capacity 3 litres, Amazon 7.5 litres. The one they’re selling is the compact one and it is more expensive anywhere than the big one. I used to have a large one years ago for the family but was too big for just me, so gave it away. Argos do a small one for £20 so I might get one as I do like to steam my vegetables.

Can't event get his jokes out properly , 'rope on a soap.'?? Seemed to be trying to take off Larry Grason again, 3rd person anecdotes (badly) - time to retire or retire the gags?!

just heard him talking about a bath pillow 'and you get off for a minute' pnharr phnarr Peter:rolleyes:

Extremely entertaining when Dirty Peter sat on a pouffe and his microphone pack stopped working! Not only could we not hear him, not only could he only be seen mouthing, not only was it impossible to hear him claiming they were hand knitted and could be wiped down, not only could he not again claim they would go great with rattan furniture......

I agree it is astonishing that in 1969 a computer with the power of a Sinclair ZX81 could control the moon landing and yet today with all the gigantic technological advances they can barely get a rocket off the ground.

Yet are we to believe that all the subsequent moon landings up to 1972 were also faked? The public actually became blasé about these tremendous achievements. They saw no good reason to keep going there.
