I don't know if this has been raised elsewhere, and apologies if so. Being late to the news as usual, I only saw this week that the EU regs have changed and halogen bulbs are no longer being produced after September, LED being the replacement. The (usually crackle)glass YC electric melt warmers with a glass dish in the top are powered by a G9 halogen bulb. I asked at my local bulb specialist shop (one of the few relevant specialist shops in my DHS) and was told the LED version of the G9 would fit but it is only 3w as opposed to 28w so the guy (who probably wasn't expecting an in depth discussion of wax burning this morning) didn't think they would be very effective, and at best a lot slower. So I immediately made a panic bulk buy, to rival my stash of old-style bayonet bulbs currently taking up half a cupboard shelf! I even got a discount!!!

Obviously a lot of the YC electric warmers have an electric plate on which you rest the dish. But the glass ones take a bulb. I wonder how they will address this on Q or on YC websites. Must make a note to check it out after September because you would be stuffed if you got one with a US halogen bulb.

I have a Yankee ceramic heater which apparently has a bulb in it to provide the heat, although you can't see it, and I don't know how to access it.

the yankee shop in Brent Cross is closed down which is a shame

Isn't that where maymorganlondon likes to go??? Oh no!!!!

I posted on another existing YC thread about the closure of the shop at BX as a heads-up to anyone close by. They were doing fab reductions. I bought several despite my bulging stash :blush::blush: Some large candles in fragrances I've had my eye on for a while for only £12. I just wish I'd known a bit earlier about that so I could have taken advantage of reductions on the WoodWick Candles which they'd started selling - unsurprisingly they had all gone first!

On another Yankee topic, has anyone noticed that we don't seem to have had the Autumn UK fragrances released yet? I know there are some US ones about at the moment, but normally they have their Autumn ones out in about July and the UK scents have candles, in all sizes, tarts and tealights. The new Fall Fragrances out at the moment (Sunkissed Thistle and Enchanted Moon??) just seem to be large jars. I wonder if something has gone awry or if they are just not bothering with a full UK range this year, but then Autumn is the time people start to burn them again. For the first Summer in years I have had to abandon candle burning this year. I hope they don't stop making tarts and tealights, I like to buy a matching set.

According to my trusty spreadsheet, the Autumnal drop of the TSV should be sent out next week so hopefully they will be available then...fingers crossed there are no problems as I really want this drop!!!!

Mazza - the payment for the second/Autumnal drop is pending on my account so it looks like these will be sent out soon, hurrah! Will report back with 'cold sniffs'

I picked up the trio yesterday and am very happy indeed. Cold sniffs as follows:

Cinnamon Apple Pie smells very true to life, juicy red apples, sweet pastry with a hint of cinnamon (thank gawd).

Blue Twilight Storm definitely recycles a previous Autumn fragrance, Autumn Gathering (from a couple of years ago which I only started burning at the weekend) but with less fruit and more patchouli.

Luscious Pumpkin Trifle was my least favourite of the trio as it was not what I was expecting - it's much less sweet than anticipated (definitely not cakey, more like Bavarian Pretzel) with that slightly burnt smell that usually accompanies YC pumpkin-based candles.
