I think QVC should really be using this time of year to sell more of a broader product base. rather than sticking to the same beauty and fashion brands on repeat (seriously how many Emu TSV's have there been this year?), they could get even more customers by selling what people want to buy this time of year!

They keep bragging that they are the number 2 most trusted company and that they have so many customers, but if they used their business mind and sold toys, more things for men and less expensive foods they could take that number 1 spot, and mean people could do all their gift shopping at QVC.

It really annoys me when the presenters say you can do all your xmas shopping here with us because you cannot! people do have children in their lives, and frankly i don't think my niece would be happy with a set of robotic bugs or a marvin's magic set (which is rubbish anyway) and then the men in my life wouldn't all want elemis or such beauty products… come on QVC THINK!

Does anyone here actually buy that food they sell? the salmon for like £50 and the expensive and small packs of meat which are quite frankly disgusting (i tried it once and never again will i order it)

Well I can happily say ive barely watched any Qvc over the last few weeks , and tbh I cant see that changing over the next week or soo , repeating TSV'S is just lazy. I would never buy food from Qvc as ive heard so many complaints over the years , and looks like this Xmas will be no different according to FB , It wouldn't surprise me if Green seasons disappears and is replaced with yet another meat brand.

it's not just qvc. I find that most of the shopping channels only seem to target women.

qvc is career women and bid tv is elderly women.

I totally agree with you Jones. Everything you say is true. I wouldn't touch QVC's meat products with a bargepole. Even when they are presented with 'Chef Michael' they look absolutely minging. Support your local High Street butcher I say. I too am totally sick to death of Emu because they seem to be on every other week. I have a pair and honestly do not think they are worth half the price I paid for them. I do love some of the beauty TSVs because they are good value for money, Liz Earle and Elemis in particular. The fashion is s****! I wouldn't buy one thing from the majority of their fashion brands and in particular Yong Kim looks very 'emperors new clothes' to me, another expensive load of rubbish. To sum up though QVC are just so predictable, I hardly watch any more where as it always used to be on in my house. As I have said in other threads I really think I am over QVC!!!!!!!

I have said this before, QVC are making money from the beauty it accounts according to newspaper reports 30% of their sales. So of course they will stick with what is making them the big money(trust me cosmetics is a big money spinner compared to what it will cost to make), so what you see repeated all the time is what is making money.

QVC have tightened their belts with the brands and products they sell since the Recession, they will not chance stocking products that do not sell. I mean just look at the pre order of products they seem to do now quite a bit. QVC want you to see them as highend with the high priced brands in cosmetics, handbags and fashion they now sell. People are buying them, look at the face cream at £300+ which did sell!!!

I even noticed the gnome was on selling bedding plants and begonias and very expensive orchids etc i mean lets get Christmas over first QVC please.

Qvc will put on tv what sells. You may think they've missed a gap in the market, but they know their market is predominantly women, which is why beauty in particular is a massive seller. If it was me I'd be sticking beauty on all the time in the run up to Christmas too, it has a massive mark up. Even shops who don't usually sell beauty gift sets wheel them out at this time of year.

Christmas isn't the time of year to take a chance in retail.

I haven`t bought a single Christmas present from Q nor would I buy any of their foodstuffs. It tends to be women who do most of the Christmas gift shopping ( I know there`ll be some exceptions so you guys don`t shoot me down ! ) but looking at the list of people I buy for and then looking at Q`s offerings there was simply nothing or very little which would be suitable. They`re missing a whole market out there IMO.
I buy for one sister who`se 65, 3 grown up sons and their partners, one stepson and his partner, one step daughter and her partner and 9 children ranging from 2 to 14 years. Within the budget I have for each person there would be very little to buy from Q and you wouldn`t buy Emus, tablets, very expensive skincare which may not be suitable or LG bags for so many people and there`s only so much jewellery, Tom Toms etc you can give because people tend to buy their own. A very poor showing by Q and that`s 20 Christmas presents I could have/might have bought from them had they actually given me suitable things to buy.

I too have been surprised by the repetitive TSVs from the likes of Mally, Emu, Lulu but they must sell or they would stop. I am sure they are ruthless enough. I also would never, ever buy food from Q, nor from Amazon who want to get into that side of things I gather. I would resent paying their postage charge to buy stuff I can pick up from the supermarket. I am not a fan of their fashion either (so agree re Yong Kim) but since reading on here that returns are NOT no quibble as promoted but count towards some level which can see you get "the letter" I would not buy it on principle. Getting the right fit is hard enough without all the hassle of posting stuff back! However, I have a mountain of skin care and Yankee Candles!
