No doubt we will see it again in January. Everybody is encouraged to over indulge at Christmas, and then the diets adverts start.
Well I suppose we should be grateful they don’t flog overpriced food like QVC. Always makes me laugh that the sell all those foodstuffs up to Christmas and then in the New Year equipment to get all the extra pounds off.

Can you even imagine what Ideal would sell.?

Its

Its winter, it gets cold every year. Viewers have probably lived through quite a few winters. I'm sure all of us on here have our winter things (apart from any central heating) heavier duvets, throws, fleecy PJs and socks to name a few. Primark sells loads of stuff like that very cheaply. I'm aware there are people who struggle to afford heating, but the solution is unlikely to be found on IW.
I'm sorry to be a broken record however this comes back to the point I often make. In the modern era of online shopping and bricks & mortar stores that offer low prices, the likes of IW can't offer us anything new, even if they wanted to. It's already out there in copious amounts. To that end, their USP should be price, however they don't and can't offer us better prices when compared to online and larger retailers.

In summary, they have no USP. And to your point, it's verging on insulting re the presenters and 'experts' preaching at us about stuff like keeping warm. Most of us have an idea how best to achieve that within our respective means.

I don't disagree, however I think QVC can get away with it more as their output in terms of production values far exceeds the likes of IW.

After Tonight I’m 100% sure it’s there end, and If so they aren’t going to get far in life
I didn't read all their posts, but I'm sorry this happened. Please don't let them grind you down - you're worth far more than some saddo who has no life and needs to be insulting to make themselves feel big. They're a pathetic person.

That doesn't make sense because Nicholas Parsons was on TV. I'm sure many of us will remember "Live from Norwich, it's Sale of the Century".

I remember him as a very elegant, smartly dressed gentleman, who had a smooth speaking voice and was erudite.

None of these attributes apply to Peter Simon (in his head probably. But that's a place I try to avoid)😖😳
Difference was Nicholas Parsons enjoyed a long-running career and Sale of the Century was very popular with all ages. Also, Nicholas Parsons was articulate and didn't have to resort to smutty comments to get a laugh. He wasn't on telly acting the buffoon, Pete, so in yer dreams.....

Thanks for sharing that. I had completely forgotten the format of the show. I bet we though the prizes were very sophisticated at the time!
Talking of the prizes, anyone seen some of the re-runs of 'Bullseye'? Some of the 1980's 'prizes' were so awful that even the studio audience laughed back then! The contestants were in pairs, so when they won a washing machine, say, I used to wonder if it was split down the middle by someone with a chainsaw?

He was brilliant on the radio show, “Just a minute” too. I think he presented it for over. 50 years.
