Why doesnt Qvc employ some more realistic models besides Joy there all under a size 12 and tall . I remember a few years back the blonde model with short hair i think her name was jo skinner ? she was tanyas freind being sacked from Qvc coz she was too big, no idea how they got away with doing that , Jo appeard on Ideal world for a short time and said on there what happend on Qvc , theres a youtube clip if anyone didnt see it . Im fed up of seeing all the makeup and hair care shows with young models with flawless skin and amazing hair, and the shape wear shows with women that are in the 20s and size 10 come on qvc remember who your target market actually is .

I love Goody and the underated Jane-Catherine! She is lovely lady and been with qvc for long time. I loved it when on Julias fashion hours, one of the models, say Jane catherine would pop over to Julia at the rail and talk about the clothes. We got to hear the models more. I think qvc should give the models more of a voice. I really dislike that Tiffany, she seems such a stuck up one.

From their point of view if they showed their fashion on real women we would see what it really looked like.
e.g the Tiana b lady never looks good in the clothes, put the same dress on Tania and it looks better. That's why we get tall slim models.

I agree with you by the way.

Q have a diverse range of models from the young and trendy who clearly wouldn't be seen dead in half the stuff they have to wear,to some of the older models who look right at home in the fashion styles.
My rule is if the presenter/designer says the item "skims over the body" then the very slender model sashays on in a pair of slacks that show a VPL or starts showing us how much stretch the fabric has when she has no rolls of fat then for me its a no!
I'm not a fan of Tiff or Goody and I don't think Joy looks right in a lot of fashion due to the, how shall I put it rather elevated chesticles!!

As the majority of the female population is now size 16 and over, I fully agree with you that they need to be a LOT more realistic when selling any item that is targeted at ladies of any shape or age.
I for one would never buy any thing that I had only seen on a size 10 5 '10" model what ever her age but I might be tempted if it was modeled on a 5'3" size 18 model then I might just be tempted.
Because if the model looked even half reasonable then I might get away with it .

I'm not SO much talking about age of the models ( however most are 20s/30s) I'm talking about there size. Also why have models with great hair and skin already, doing hair care and make up shows , theses products are meant to be SO wonderful so why cant they have someone with genuinely bad skin or bad hair and lets see some proper before and afters

I have nothing against Joy the so called "plus" model, but she is not a typical plus model, is she? She does have a large bust, but other than that she does not seem to have lumps and bumps like a typical "plus" size lady out in the "real" world.

I agree with you all. However I do like Catherine that is on a the moment in the Decarte hour, she is slim but curvy around the hips - pear shaped like alot on english ladies.

I remember when the Jo Skinner thing happened. We decided it was actually she was getting too big for her boots, answering back etc not her size.

She did not last very long on IW, only on once or twice.

Tania dropped her like a stone when she left QVC. She used to go riding with AY, who also dropped her.

qvc used to use a lot of bigger models but i have noticed over the last few weeks the younger thinner models are taking over. like today for example with the decarte range. joy looks very much smaller in real life and needs to wear more modern cut bras. i am a g cup and there are better shaped bras available.

i think that the sellers choose thier models i.e sharon is used a lot for kim&co and dennis basso and joan rivers but harold of pompoos never used her cant think why.

Harald tended to go for the vampy/hi-glamour looking ones, Sharon's more your classic model.

Ahhhhhh QVC models my favourite subject. I love 'em. Dd anyone hear Ginger Gisella (laura Geller reguar) speaking the other week? Turns out she's German! What a turn up!

Jo (gobby) Skinner started up a model agency (in Essex, go figure) after she got the boot off IW and that failed too.

I thought model Frankie looked the best I've seen her on the silver with diamonds jewellery show with Dale last night (what's the brand name? A.... something.) Anyway, Frankie had her hair swept up and red lipstick on and the look really suited her: very classic 50's type look, lovely.

I personally like looking at the classic models like Sharon and Goody: they are tall and elegant and a pleasure to look at. But I also think it's essential to use models like Catherine and Joy for the more realistic everyday woman's size - gives a more accurate picture of how the clothes will fit most customers - these models have classic 'model' faces, but with realistic bodies, if you get what I mean! But models of all sizes are by definition more beautiful than the rest of us, and I think that should stay the same - it is their profession after all.

i have laways though that in the past qvc have always used a variety of models to reflect thier client base. they use asian models melintha who is not at all tall for a model and again looks sooo much prettier in real life. ali who just had a baby who models the butler and wilson line is very very beautiful and friendly. i just had to talk to her (god i sound like a t-caller must stop now)

For clothes models I like Catherine and Nicola, and the model that hasn't been on for years that was always used for Kirks Folly jewellery. Sharon and Goody modelling would never inspire me to buy anything. From the few snippets of Pompoos shows I've seen Harald seems to like his models to look tarty (imo).

I know it's an unpopular opinion but I really don't think Sharon is a pleasure to look at at all.

sharon looks a lot better in real life. she dresses amazing and even wears a stetson. very very awesome looking. very tall

If they are going to use a size 18 model, they should use a normal one with soft flesh, and a wobbly tummy not Joy, who I doubt really is a size 18 and looks like she is encased in spanx. No offence to Joy, she seems lovely. Oh and her legs are too good too!
