pre tablet devices, what where they again?

I seem to recall not that long before tablets caught on, IW were selling devices for connecting to the internet via 3G, it was quite a small screen with a keyboard that was kind of flat. the device couldn't play moving images (except the likes of flash maybe?) and the pages used to load in blocks.

wasn't that long ago, anyone else remember them?

I remember those. In fact, in a moment of weakness I ordered one from IW.
I packaged it back up to return less than 30 mins after opening. Absolute rubbish.

I remember Howard trying to sell it by saying it makes you look very James Bond 007. Yeah, as long as Bond was in no hurry to save the world, because he was waiting for the quarter of a webpage the screen could actually display to load. S L O W L Y.
