I know it will take a long time but wouldn’t you think that Brexit and C19 would prove to us that we as a country (uk as a whole not individual regions) need to become a lot more self sufficient. However are we prepared to pay the prices or have we become far too used to a cheap throw away culture? Q as usual is neither cheap, local nor quality

It’s a nice top but I couldn’t be bothered with the fact that it’s linen. It’s all very well for the BA to say it looks good creased, but I don’t agree and I don’t want to spend time having to iron things.

I like the idea of linen and I see others wearing creased linen and they look casual and easy but on me it just looks creased.

I wonder is it because it’s nicely ironed in bits and like the dogs dinner in other bits. Maybe it just needs to be softly creased all over?

Love linen. The better quality it is the heavier it is. it does not ever crease so it looks tatty it just looks relaxed

I used to take linen on holiday and spend time ironing and steaming, how daft was that?I was on a business visit abroad and the more crumpled and creased your linen was the more credibility you had, should have slept in it and just got out of bed ready to go the next morning.

I like the one I bought last time and I would have bought the navy but £25? I must have paid that before but had this one been under £20 I may have gone for it. I don't mind the creasing, I like that it's cool to wear and doesn't make you hot and sweaty like Kim/Nina/Ant/Renee.

Sadly we have past the point of no return with manufacturing. The days of the cotton and woollen mills were when labour was cheap and families lived from week to week on generally one wage. I suspect if that Monsoon top at 25 quid was made in this country it would be around £75 to buy. It would be wages/ building rent-rates / utilities / insurance / profit, and a myriad of other expenses that would all be calculated into pricing that one top. Hence the cheap throwaway fashion we have now from 3rd world countries. I mean, how can you buy a T shirt for a couple of quid from Primark ? even with profit it must be only 25p to make.
