James Russell is rubbish - in my opinion

As anyone who had read this site for a while will know that I have always tried to put forward my honest opinion, recently I have posted a few things about James Russell, I find him the most boring and bland presenter not to mention patronising that it has ever been my misfortune to watch on any Jewellery Channel.

THIS IS MY OPINION and like everyone in the UK I am entitled to give it.

Mr Russell however apppears not to like critics, I received this from him today:

Thank you for the witty and wonderful reviews you so often give me on your site, I really love your tongue in cheek ironic sense of humor, as the owner of a site dedicated to shopping telly you obviously know that on 3 different channels I have had both the highest viewing and also the highest sales figures. Consistently for more than 4 years which is what makes your brilliantly incorrect comments so utterly hilarious..your such a character Graham, making out that you know absolutely nothing about the industry your in...genius.....keep it up..

If you can't take the heat Mr. Russell, I'd suggest you apply for a position in a more sycophantic industry than shopping channel salesman, though door to door might be more your style.

Some of the presenters on Gems clearly don't believe in free speech. A few weeks ago it was Lucy who was trying to gag us and now this. I don't watch Gems anymore, so I don't know this presenter Mr Russell, though from his note to Graham he sounds gruesome and I agree he needs to go away and get some grammar/spelling lessons.

C'mon, James Russell, if you're reading this - please be magnanimous! I like your presenting style (as I've said before on this forum), but if you're in the public eye you're going to get criticism - both fair and unfair. I run a voluntary organisation, and you should hear some of the things people say about me! (And it must be even worse for the MPs, not all of whom are crooks.) The only solution I've found is to swallow hard and rise above it.

Well that just reinforces everything i've thought all along about James Russell, Arrogant, smug, opinionated, self loving jackazz! I for one Mr Russell did not and still do not like you or your presenting style either at Gems TV or at Sit-Up channels while you were there! As has been said in previous posts on this thread...If you can't take criticism you are in the wrong job.

Oh and by the way, smug e-mails to Graham won't get you any brownie points on this forum either!

I dont always post but just had to on this one!! C'mon guys where is your sense of humour?!?! I for one think that James Russell's response was pretty funny - can you not see the witty side? Sure did give me a good giggle on what otherwise has been a pretty boring Monday!! I also must say that i do enjoy watching the shows when James is presenting i find him full of interesting information unlike the presenters on some of the other channels... Did anyone see the shooting stars? So interesting, i couldn't resist buying!! Plus...to join the big beard debate... the few day stubble was a big hit with me - made an old lady very happy over the weekend looking at him for a few hours!!

If the statement that Mr Russell has made about having the highest viewing and sales figures for 4 years (after correcting the grammar I'm assuming that's what he means) then why haven't I ever heard of him? Irrespective of whether it's true or not, the reviews on here suggest that Mr Russell won't be holding that title for very much longer. Scruffiest, self obsessed, legend in his own lunchtime presenter may well be the next honour bestowed. As others have said, if Mr Russell doesn't like adverse comments then HE knows nothing about the industry he's in. :mysmilie_81:
