Hi,
I recently signed up to QVC. Unfortunately, I didn't bother to record my QVC membership number as took it for granted they'll send me a confirmation email and/or details etc. as most sites do when you sign up..including shoppingtellyforum It didn't help that my PC restarted after I placed my order hence I couldn't find the membership number on my history.
Even after placing my order, I only got a confirmation email order and they didn't include my membership number on them!! Still no sign of a welcoming email etc. So, I decided to call them for my membership number as I wanted to place another order. The customer officer asked for my details - postcode, address and then to my surprise asked for my pin number? She asked if I knew my pin number. I said yes, I knew my pin number but I only wanted to know my account number as I didn't jot it down and didn't receive any confirmation/welcoming email.
As the pin number was set up by me, shouldn't it be the case that I don't have to disclose to them? Isn't the pin number like a password? However, they required me to give them my pin number. I told them that it's my numbercode and was reluctant to hand over the details. I've got nothing against the officer but to me it's like telling a stranger my pin number to my account. Let's just said I was annoyed and told the officer never mind and hang up. Wonder what would happen if I had said I don't know my pin number? *ponder* Maybe it would have made my life easier.
1) If you're a QVC customer, in your opinion, is the pin number that you setup private or 'public'/disclosable?
2) Does anyone know QVC's direct customer service email. I did wanted to sent them my query. However, it requires my QVC membership number when using their website.
Looks like I'll have to wait until my first order arrive in order to get my membership number.
