We often hear that there are 150 people on the phones or 200 and I think I may have even heard 500 people on the phones, but how many phone lines do you that QVC have? Has anyone ever heard of more than 500 people on the phones?

They seem to have a large call centre as its always a short time before someone answers, plus the call centre don't hurry you to get off the line which is good. But has anyone ever phoned and the number has been engaged?

I have been ordering from France for over 10 years and have always used 0800 90 82 92 and I get straight through to QVC, (plus its a free phone number). So I have never used 0800 50 40 30 and don't even know if that number would work from here.

I can't see my number advertised on the website now, so I am also wondering if its only me that uses it, or is it common knowledge?

Now that is REALLY interesting to know that number, and I've never seen it published anywhere.

I've no idea about call centre numbers, perhaps Supercoolwillow could help out here !!!

Most call centers I think usually have some overflow service to an outsourcer who have trained agents to help in times of high demand. I am sure QVC would do this as it is flexible for them. I would imagine with all the millions of people that tune in they must have capacity for 100 of their agents + supplementary part-timers and outsourcers too.

It's been a while since I called to order in person but the last time I did the call was answered within a couple of rings but I was actually in a queue and Pipa's recorded voice was asking me if I'd like to secure my item or call qcut if I didn't want to wait.

When I've tried to ring for an item on the early Breast Cancer Care nights I've had an engaged tone on 504030 and Qcut.

Also, somewhere I have two phone numbers, which aren't free 0800 numbers, but they access the Qcut number and the basic order line via a normal Liverpool number i.e. with the 0151 Liverpool prefix..I'll see if I can track it down (could take a while).
