"Andi Peters Food Fest", is scheduled for 01 September. Wonder if Dale will be his co pilot? How lucky are we, that they bring the experts in? Seriously, though, amateurs do bring thee perspective of us everyday folks to bare and can, sometimes, be more informative in enabling us to make a decision.

Andi Peters is a peculiar fellow. I've heard so many rumours about him in media circles. Would like to interview him.

Yes, would like to interview Andi Peters. Would also like to interview Jimmy Young and would like to have interviewed Marti Caine.

I thought these shows were good fun, despite the huuuge ego of Mr P. They make an entertaining pair.

I started to dislike him when he judged people on Masterchef. He was unnecessarily catty which was rich because, just like Q, he was a runner up therefore was not Gods gift to the culinary world despite his attitude.

Well, I for one am looking forward to these shows. I thought they were brilliant, although Dale has to take some credit as well. They both worked extremely well together IMO, and they had cracking chemistry.
The shows had what most QVC shows are usually missing, humour.

I've never watched Masterchef, so I can't comment on that really, other to say that I'd bet a weeks wage that certain 'judges' on these type of shows are told beforehand to be overly critical etc.

Julius, this is a genuinely serious question. Regarding interviewing subjects, you sound as if you know what it is all about. Do you think, and this is off topic a tad, anyone who interviewed Robin Williams would have been aware that he was an acute depressive? What would you learn, do you think, from sitting down and chatting with Andi?

Philip ....it's a pupppeettt ..Larry the loafer is funnier :mysmilie_17:

How much one gets out of of it is very much down to the dynamic twixt the interviewer and interviewee. People don't generally confide their inner woes to someone who they perceive may misuse the information, lest they make a rod for their own back. That is why I favour Jimmy Young or Stephen Saccur over Jeremy Paxman. As for Robin Williams, I don't know really. Sadly he has lost his life. He was a comedic performer and many say that people in that bracket often have the worst inner demons. It's hard to know what he was thinking in the run up to his untimely demise. It is possible that some people might have uncovered something. Who knows? He certainly would have had the professional skills to hide it well - better than most. If he was determined to commit suicide and wanted to see it through he would hardly announce it.

I find it very interesting looking at interviews with different people. One person who fascinates me is a certain pop singer whose public persona is quite far removed from his true nature. It's a shame because I like some of this person's work but can see that he is a master of spin and PR, on a par with Savile and Harris. There is also a certain female pop singer / presenter of the same era who has a very different persona in person. I'd LOVE to meet her, I really would!

I think I would get to learn more about Andi Peters. I would be subtle with my approach but calculated. He is a very interesting character. I heard a lot about him when I was at the BBC. He tended not to come my way for I worked in radio in a different location. Nowadays it's all done in the same building!

The nicest celebs I met BY FAR were Clare Rayner (she was LOVELY, absolutely fantastic), Sarah Kennedy (a very nice person) and Moira Stuart (who used to eat cream eclairs on the 8th floor) was was also very pleasant and professional. Johnnie Walker was great. The worst I met in Radio were Tony Blackburn (unbelievably egotistical and insincere) and Simon Fanshawe (just horrible). I also met Jo Whiley who said to me: "Do you have permission to be in this studio?" To which I replied: "Yes, it's you that shouldn't be here!"

Julius you are right about comedians. A housemate of my ex boyfriend is a stand up comedian who did Edinburgh fringe. He told me that loads of comedians... even the A list ones are suffering from depression. Of course he may be wrong, but he sounded credible to me.

As for the rest of your post...Cliff Richard?

You will likely hear more about this person as the next few months unfold. I believe he's issued a super injunction (like he did in 1983 when a similar story was about to break). The thing is that this is not 1983. With the advent of social media these things have a tendancy to seep out! Of course nothing's been proven and my suspicions are only that - suspicions. But I know I'm right. So much so I'd stake my life on it!
