Hi All!

I’m a new poster here but have been a lurker for some time now.

Did anyone else see Steve Bennett introducing ‘Csarite’ yesterday evening at 7:00 p.m.? Apparently there has been a falling out between the Turkish diaspore mine owner and his finance backer. It would appear that the backer owns the trademark ‘Zultanite’ so the mine owner has had to give his product a new name and they have come up with the name ‘Csarite’. The CS stands for colour shift, Csar being a title like a Sultan (although that would mean spelling it with a CZ) and also it is the name of a thoroughbred horse – again spelt with a CZ and not CS.

If you have bought Zultanite in the past, you can still call it Zultanite, but from now on all stones coming from the mine will be known as Csarite.

Steve also intriguingly mentioned that someone ‘who comments regularly on Shopping Telly’ has been to see the mine and he is waiting for a report back from them….

OK own up! Anyone here had a trip out to the Anatolian mountains recently?!!!:sun:

Well, I will "out" myself! I was supposed to visit in June but due to my father-in-law's sudden hospitalisation I had to cancel. However, I will be going in 4 or 5 weeks time armed with a camera! Since it's over 100 degrees there at the moment, I'm hoping that my bikini will be fine with a hard hat and wellies!

Actually, come to think of it, a bikini doesn't have many hiding places does it? Mmmmmm, I may need a rethink! Anybody got a bikini with big pockets for huge amounts of jewels? :)

So he still reads the site, shame he doesn't come on here and answer customers questions.

Graham I'm not sure that Steve does. If he did, he would know that I hardly post any more! I think he was referring to years gone by when I used to post a lot.

Hi. ALthough I haven't posted much I have bought a lot from gems in the past. I'm sure steve does check out what's being said. the fact that he doesn't do anything about what is raised is a whole different matter.

To be honest I think that the quality is poor of late and doesn't represent value for money. Too much has to be sent back due to poor workmanship and shoddy settings. I've moved on and would prefer one decent piece of quality jewellery that a handful of gems items.

The fact is that no one forces me (or anyone else) to buy - each to their own. as for steve I'm sure that he sells enough not to be too bothered what any of us think.

Apologies for side tracking....

I've no idea if Steve or anyone else from Gems reads this forum nowadays, but it is all genuine (hopefully) customer feedback. So many of us have enjoyed watching GTV for years and been good repeat customers. The past threads on here of folks purchases were numerous and interesting and often prompted more purchases by the rest of us. So what's gone wrong?

I've been whingeing for years about changing the boring, dated and irritatingly loud music, yet nothing has happened. The sound effects eg heartbeat has annoyed others so much so they've stopped watching. Yet goodness knows how much has been spent on new studios, website, phone system, presenters, and now another new channel. All a complete waste on me as I've lost most of the presenters I could watch, the graphics obliterate the jewellery on screen, so that ridiculously close up shots are repeatedly shown of half fingers and nails in the closest of scrutiny! And very often the camera work is dire, blurred shots, rapid zooming all aggravated by the extreme close up shots! Awful! What happened to taking the cameras back and showing more of the presenter and the desk with the jewellery visible. Now they sit there displaying the ring etc on their hand and we can't see it, obscured by the black graphics box, as the camera is too focused.

For me what needs fixing is cheap.....turn down the 'music' and unnecessary sound effects, take the cameras further away from the presenters, stop the shouting by some of the presenters and I will then find it a much more comfortable environment in which to start watching regularly again.......:smirk:
