Only 24 days to go until Christmas. Wonder what glorious items of tat we'll be offered this time.

Oh no they make christmas seem like something to be planned like a military campaign. I used to love christmas- the socialising, good food, pretty lights at home and in town and the simple ,enjoyable task of buying a few gifts for close family and a couple friends. Now it is just something to be endured and feel guilty and pressured about with most people so knackered, resentful and skint that the christmas week is something I could do without. I dont give in to the pressure but I just wish it could all be simpler, maybe its because the kids are grown up now but I wouldnt be sorry if it was officially canceled. Id rather spend time with extended family when everyone isnt so stressed.

I want some of these tea light holders. I love tasteful ornaments.

Ah Christmas......the nuclear family celebrates capitalism is the way it would seem from the ads, the hype, the pressure, the tat that suddenly appears from July onwards. Wish we could have the odd year off like they do with Glastonbury sometimes.

I like Christmas in July better than Christmas in December.

I'm not a huge fan of it anytime. It's just got completely out of hand and if you're the cook, it's Christmas Eve queuing at the supermarket, then the rest of the day preparing, Christmas Day up at the crack of dawn to get the turkey in the oven, then sweating your t*ts off in the kitchen, and Boxing Day getting the house back to some sort of normality.

I've always enjoyed Christmas but I absolutely detest this build-up in the middle of the year and it's the same with the shops in the High Street. I've seen Christmas Cards on sale in August which is way too early and I think we're fed up of the festive season before it actually arrives these days!

Besides, I don't think QVC could ever beat or match Whatter's Crazee Christmas on IW. Now that was worth watching even though the bulk of the items were tat but that man could sell sand to the Arabs.....

How about this item i fell for in 2006????

Probably the tattiest thing I ever bought.

Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately) I can't display the picture on here.

Can anyone beat this with their tattiest purchase?

Not in the early days of my freeview box when I discovered Q.

Another tatty item is my floating candles, thin plastic disks with a wick that you have to float on a bowl of water with cooking oil on top!

I can probably come a close second Strato!

I bought key rings of a similar ilk, diamond, ruby, sapphire and emerald. I popped them inside the girls crackers one Christmas and they loved them! - Yes really!

BTW, forget about Christmas in July, it is WINTER in July in Plymouth, 15 degrees outside, windy, pouring with rain, and my CENTRAL HEATING IS ON.

In fact, I think i've had my heating on every day in June, but mainly in the evenings. It is July now, and I need it on in the day!
