Ok - I know I should stop watching altogether if I find it so irritating, but I was actually hoping that the Lapidary hour might offer something innovative; now, due to "technical problems" it's been cancelled!
Gems is going from bad to worse; I have no idea what the Bennett's vision was when they rebought the company but it's becoming fairly evident that improvement wasn't part of the business plan!
Technical problems seem to plague auctions on a regular basis, pricing is arbitrary, presenting is dreadful and the jewellery, apart from Tookalon and a few other solitary items is either dull and ininspiring or luridly ostentatious.
Obviously the Bennetts are making enough to keep going, and are attracting enough new customers to replace the ones who remember better days and have jumped ship - I'm assuming it's not a priority to ensure that the technology is up to administering four channels or keeping loyal customers, so I'll take my money elsewhere....
I will still watch occasionally but won't buy anymore; I don't want to be shouted at or misled when parting with my hard-earned and, if Gems can't be bothered to take themselves off air until they have the technological resources to present professional programming with a consistent pricing structure, then I'm afraid I can't be bothered to participate....
