On paper, this looks like a pretty good deal - a £75 leather handbag for £44. Let's face it, Ashwood are a discount brand, almost excusively sold at reduced prices, apart from their own website which appears to exist to add truth to their original prices as much as it is to sell handbags. As some of you may know, I bought an Ashwood bag a few years back and I was really disappointed with it, the leather was uneven, it was poky and the magnetic clasp kept popping open if you put anything substantial inside. I've subsequently seen them up close in TK Maxx and again, you can see the quality isn't that great. Straggly straps, uneven textures.
At a glance, this tsv bag looks great, but take a closer look and it really isn't. For starters, it's a real stretch to describe it as a "tote" - It's a grab bag with a straggly strap that you can attach. On a plus side it looks smart, and I like the metal studs on the bottom. I watched the demo and it's a very small bag and despite what they're saying it does not look big enough to hold your everyday needs. There are dints in the leather which makes parts of the bag collapse inwards, lumpy bits where the bag joins to the base, and if that's the ones they're using for the demo - I dread to think what you'll end up receiving.
It's a cheap bag, fair enough but don't expect anything spectacular!
