Well this one has popped up once more on QVC FB Page. A complaint last week about returning a beauty product to QVC and getting a letter they had used too much product in the 30 day MBG. So today another lady on saying she has got the letter and only returned 3 products in the last 12 months. But this one concerns the use of a Gatineau Throat Gel.

Now Catherine Huntley loves to tell us we can even sent back the empty pot and get our money back. Seems even yesterday she did the same live on air.

For this is QVC's official reply about how much product they expect you to use. Or you too could get a letter.

I'm sorry to hear this letter has worried you. The amount can vary depending on the product. Our Returns Specialists will make this judgement by calculating how much 1 person should use if following instructions on the recommended amount to use each day multiplied by 30 or less if product received back before this point. A letter will be sent if they feel much more has been used than should have within that time frame. Hayley x
 
Ive heard many of the presenters said you can return empty pots including Alison Young , they have also said the same about the food items , send the empty packaging back and get a full refund etc.
 
Wonder how they would deal with a bottle of Wen? Using the recommended amount of pumps, a bottle would be practically empty after 30 days....
 
It`s impossible to know Q`s guidelines on what is or isn`t a reasonable amount to use of something. I imagine a little man with a slide rule measuring " one dab " of face cream then multiplying by 30 then subtracting that from a 50ml jar and the measuring the amount of remaining cream. Sounds ridiculous but in effect that`s what they`re saying !
As we know when it comes to skincare and cosmetics there`s very rarely hard and fast rules which would apply across the board, everybody uses it and applies it differently. Some use it lightly, some more heavy handedly, some use it once a day, some twice or more, some people have dry skin which absorbs more, some share it between one or more people, the variations are endless.
To me they either do or don`t offer an unconditional mbg and at the moment it very much sounds like they don`t.
 
Exactly! Either it's unconditional or not. At the moment it seems very much NOT.

They need to either make this crystal clear (and get the presenters to explain it on air) or just stop allowing returns on cosmetic products altogether.
 
Well I guess there are ways around this , If you've used say half a pot of moisturiser and decide its not for you , top it up with a "cheap" supermarket moisturiser, give it a mix and send back, if Qvc are going to move the goal posts then there customers need to get invented :mysmilie_59:

Seriously though, if I bought a 250ml pump bottle of SBC collagen gel ( for example ) and only used it on my face then after 30 days there would barely be a dent in the bottle, whereas if I applied it to face , hands, feet and body twice daily after baths or showers, by the 30th day there might not be much left. The whole thing is ridiculous. pah to their supposed unconditional mbg, it doesn`t blinking well exist !
Plus when you watch the guests demonstrating and applying thick layers of creams, lotions or potions to the models faces or bodies, it hardly encourages people to count every blob they use.
 
Sorry but do Q have a different definition of the phrase NO QUIBBLE MONEY BACK GUARANTEE in their English dictionary???
 
I actually have sent a nearly empty pot of cream back and once with trial size products I'm sure the little tubes were empty. I've not had a letter though so maybe it's random?

Gels wouldn't work, the supermarkets don't do any really cheap versions :mysmilie_11:
 
"Returns Specialist" my @rse! It's just Burt in the warehouse shaking the bottles and having an off day so the returner gets a quibbling letter!

The Letter is a new thing, it was first heard of last year when one woman got her product returned back to her saying she had used too much!!!!

2014 January and suddenly they are sending out letters, two so far heard of in one week on FB. Now how many have got the letter who are not on FB???
 
I wonder if the people who have received this letter are serial returners? Technically, it should make no difference as "unconditional" should mean just that. But if certain people have had this letter because they return a lot, it could be that QVC are keeping a special check on them for perceived "abuse"?

I have never returned anything to QVC other than jewellery, a handbag and footwear, all of which were in unused condition. If I did return a partly used beauty product and received this letter, I would be livid! They need to stop advertising their "unconditional" 30 day money-back guarantee immediately, if this is their new policy.

No, the latest woman stated she only returned 3 items as unsuitable in a 12 month period. She is shocked as a long standing QVC customer of many years.
 
I'd be livid too if I returned a beauty product and received a letter saying I had used too much. The presenters go on and on about the 30 day MBG, but I don't think I have ever heard them say 'but don't use too much or you won't get your money back, and you will receive a letter telling you off'. Wonder why? However, I have heard them say you can return an empty bottle and still receive your money back. They need to make their minds up - and stop making customers feel as if they have done something wrong. How is a customer meant to work out how much of a product QVC think they should have used a day, some people will be more liberal with products than others. Get a grip QVC.

Maybe we on here should start keeping a record of the date, time, show, and presenter every time the unconditional 30 day MBG is mentioned, along with the words used. Then anyone who gets the letter can refer to a few presenter quotes when they "politely" (ahem) respond to QVC! We could start a new thread just for the list of quotes or include them in this thread. For example:

What about those overpriced Imedeen pills ? how could you return them if you didn't see results.
