    Good Grief Alexis!

I will try to summarise for you Strato. Julia is wearing a short sparkly dress. From this we quickly move on to talk about "baps". Some baps are barms, others are muffins. Or teacakes. But not with currants in. Some muffins have oven bottoms. Baps can be butties. Or cobs which are...

What Brands would you like to see re-introduced

Indeed yes, 100% agree. Old M&S was fab, quality is much lower nowadays.

What Brands would you like to see re-introduced

I went through some old clothes I'd forgotten about the other day (am a terrible hoarder) and discovered t-shirts by Fashion Formulas and a cardigan from Modern Soul. Not remotely stylish, don't know why I bought them, must have been feeling sad and lonely at 11.30pm one evening. However, the...

Fines for QVC presenters - suggestions

Hang on a second. Dramatic pause. How much is it again? Horrified look. Turquoise-blue flash of eyes at viewer while firing secret hypnotic Buy It Now lasers implanted in the iris by Iron Man. Only £95.33 for the full 5ml size??? So, you could buy two of them for less than the price of a...

Good City to Spend New Year

Hello fellow Rose I have had some lovely weekends in Bath. Never been there for New Year so am not sure if they have big fireworks displays. There are at least 2 theatres and some great shops and restaurants, plus the Roman Baths and so much else to see, if it's all open leading up to New...

    Birchwood Outlet Store

It's just amazing to me that QVC spend so much money on TV presentation, convincing us all what an upscale company they are and then they allow their two outlet stores to do business like the worst kind of market-stall jumble sale for the great unwashed.

    Catherine H and sensible

Agree, credit cards (at least the interest they're charged out at) are evil! I think it's sensible to have one for emergencies, like being stranded abroad and needing to be able to get a flight home, that kind of thing but only if you know you are able to keep the spending under control. I'm...

    Catherine H and sensible

If someone doesn't have a credit card and is renting for years, possibly they can't get credit or a mortgage due to earlier credit problems or even bankruptcy? I really hope Catherine hasn't had difficult times, she raised two small children alone from a young age which I think must have been...

    New Website

They seem to have morphed both fine and fashion jewellery categories together so it's all just under Jewellery, both on main website and in Clearance. Makes browsing a pain, sometimes I want to look at just silver jewellery, don't want to wade through lots of plastic beads or diamond rings as well.

another new clothes range heading our way

I read that piece about Trinny and Susannah bringing a range to QVC as well (and also know that the Sidebar of Shame does me no good at all, all those evil articles about Z list celebrities "celebrating their curves" - i.e. some bi*tchy journalist having a dig and saying "ooh they've been at the...

Tangle Teezer Compact Styler Detangling Hair Brush Try Me Price

Thanks, SCW, this looks interesting. Has anyone tried Tangle Teezer, does it work on wavy hair or will I just end up like Monica in Friends in the "it's the humidity" episode?

Cheap skincare - is it worth it?

I think there are some products that do make a difference to the look of your skin on the surface. For me, pre-rosacea, these were Decleor's Phytopeel and Hydrotenseur (eye serum). But I don't think anything is going to turn back the clock or prevent natural skin sagging or wrinkles...

    What a routine!

I don't think everyone is that hard on themselves, lots of people have complicated skincare regimes because they like it and see the benefits. I just know that for me it was part of the I'm-not-good-enough mentality I had when I was younger. I think making the most of yourself is a good thing...

    What a routine!

I spent my 20s and 30s buying everything AY recommended and using up most of my disposable income that way. Developed rosacea from overload of essential oils. Hit 40 and realised all that frenzied cosmetic-buying was just another way of believing I'm not good enough as I am. So now I am...

    What have you bought lately?

Bought nothing for a year, then a sudden binge. OPI Pirates of the Caribbean collection Leighton Denny Handbag Must-Haves (wanted the crystal nail file, really should have just bought that alone on ebay) Then two days ago I bought 3 Print Fusion dresses in Clearance. Cannot imagine why...

    Antthony Fashion Designs

Love Antthony, lovely guy. Julia must adore him because he just said, while they were selling a bright coloured t-shirt: "I love how you've styled it with the side zip leggings and the wedge toe post shoes". Julia said "YOU DO??" so she's clearly aware of the views from st.com.... ! It was...

    Anuschka painted bags

I like the idea of them but the designs are a bit Disney-ish. And I can't afford them anyway! (having looked at more of them it's like if The Lion King did merchandise, or Finding Nemo had a spin-off line)

Who's going for the AHHHHHH bra?

I was shocked at the reviews, dozens of people questioning how the bras ever got through Quality Control and all saying they think they should have their postage refunded both ways because the quality is so poor (good luck with that one).

    Leighton Denny TSV 20thApril

You have helped Akimbo! I've stuck with OPI because it is consistently high quality, I get a week's wear easily from painting my nails (with Seche Vite on top). I think I might give LD a miss and seek out some groovier new colours from OPI. I have the sort of nails where nothing sticks to...

    Leighton Denny TSV 20thApril

I like the look of this set as I don't have many bright colours. I only wear OPI nail polish, have never tried LD. What do people think of the quality/staying power, is it as good as OPI? I always wear Seche Vite as a topcoat, without it no colour stays on my nails longer than a few hours...
