Hi Meeshoo, I've no idea I'm afraid, I wasn't watching it that closely - I had the telly on and walked in the living room when they were doing the auction and showed the ring. I was just so surprised by how well cut it was more than anything.

I saw a round brilliant cut Tanzanian Ruby (or "Tanzian" as Victoria keeps saying) ring and the fire and sparkle coming from it was amazing, it was SO well cut. No windows whatsoever. Let's hope that this is the shape of things to come.

Just been watching James Russell doing the Tanzanite show. He said only 1%of the tanzanite which comes out of the mine is AAA grade. Now I always thought, maybe wrongly it seems, that it's the amount of heat treatment applied to the gem which determines the intensity of colour and the grading...

Yes, it was aired last week (I think) or it might have been the weekend before. The actual ring wasn't actually shown as it wasn't in the studio that day but they ran the auction for someone who had phoned in and requested it, and it was done from a 'picture auction'. The price was over £1000...
