It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas......

My friend and I have been emailing each other all day [she lives halfway up a Welsh mountain] with details of what we should lay in as emergency supplies. We tried to start sensibly with milk and bread and stuff but our list quickly became a] emergency wine b] emergency chocolate c] emergency...

    Watch out!

Thank you, Nora. It's a heart-stopping moment when realisation dawns, and when someone's got added stress, like a poorly baby, it can just feel like too much to cope with, I'm sure. Luckily, it was fairly easy to sort out - but I'd much prefer it if anti-fraud measures were much more stringent.

    Watch out!

I'm fast coming to the opinion that it doesn't matter how careful you are, they'll get you somehow. I'm so, so careful with my cards and bank account details. I got my last credit card statement on Friday and nearly fainted on the spot. Some toerag had made merry with my credit card...

    Knitting Help

Hi Emeralds, and welcome to The Drop! There are lots of options you can try. If you like knitting on straights, you might like to make easy blanket squares which you send off to be made into blankets. There's a great project, as an example, here: http://www.knit-a-square.com/ but there are...

    Celebrity Big Brother 2013

Strange that Lacey was nominated then had a sudden urge to throw off her clothes. And in snowy January, too. Now, far be it from me to suggest she may be trying to influence the vote ... Speidi get more terrifying by the day. I swear Spencer's stopped blinking, he's mesmerising the others...

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas......

Oh gosh, Sue, I'm keeping everything crossed for you. I hope all goes well on Friday and continues to go well for a very, very long time to come.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas......

Clear blue skies and bright sunshine in Cardiff. We were promised snow overnight but apart from a few icy sleet showers there's been nothing. Reading this thread's making me shiver though!

    Celebrity Big Brother 2013

I was really uncomfortable watching Sam, too. Hope he's going to be OK and this doesn't damage his future prospects.

    Celebrity Big Brother 2013

Blimey, how humourless are Speidi? They'll never get laughter lines, that's for sure. I watched the show tonight then had to turn over to C5+1 just to check out what I'd seen. They don't seem to understand British culture, which means that following a silly spat both sides have to apologise...

    Celebrity Big Brother 2013

I had to laugh at Rylan's voice rising by about four octaves as he worked himself up into a hissy-fit of outrage. If only he'd demonstrated that incredible vocal range on the X Factor he'd have won! Sam was a lot more animated on BBOTS, wasn't he? I think he'd have made a good...

    Celebrity Big Brother 2013

Hope you're feeling better, Ms Sawyer. BBOTS is enough to give you flippin' migraine at times. Anyone remember the days when Russell Brand presented it on Channel 4? One long shriekfest with Russell Brand making not remotely subtle references to his astounding ... er ... attributes. Anyway, I...

    Celebrity Big Brother 2013

We have a winner! On the subject of which housemate will be first to throw a major tanty and threaten to flounce off, ladies and gentlemen, Our Lady of Uncanny Foresight is ... LE Lover!

    Moss

Oooh, is it that bad, Fraz? Well, when our patio looks more lawn-like than... er ... the lawn, then I scrape the moss off with a spade or a hoe. QVC was also selling a set of two metal brushes on a pole, which are good for scraping smallish areas. I couldn't find the brushes on the QVC...

    Moss

Don't worry about the moss on your drive that looks like seaweed. If it's what I think it is, it's the first stage of growth of fern spores, and when [if!!] we get a bit of dry weather it will obligingly shrivel up and die. My garden's been underwater for ages, and I'm shuddering at the mere...

    Celebrity Big Brother 2013

Anyone care to bet on who's going to be first to do that flouncy-look-at-me thing, hammering on the diary room door and threatening to leave?

    Celebrity Big Brother 2013

I really like Claire, she seems sweet. Sam kilt boy seems to love himself to bits. Paula, apparently, failed all the psych tests to go into CBB when it was on C4, hope she doesn't go into meltdown. Loathe Speidi. If someone set fire to them, all that would be left would be a pool of congealed...

    Can anyone help please?

Sadly, when things hit crisis point. The young man was arrested for being 'drunk and disorderly', when he wasn't, he was in the grip of his psychosis, late one night and wandering the streets. Sorry, Diane, I know that's not much help.

    Can anyone help please?

God, what a nightmare. The only positive suggestion I can [sort of] offer is that my friend's partner's son had similar behaviour patterns. It was only when he finally got treatment that his family realised what an unhappy, miserable existence he'd had. When they were at the mercy of his...

    New Year Greetings

Happy New Year from me! I've already had the best start to 2013. After a frankly rotten Christmas which ended with my elderly father being taken into hospital, we had the results of his MRI scan this evening, and ... he's OK. Even better, he's now lined up for a proper assessment and physio...

    R.i.p ruby

I'm so dreadfully sorry. It's an acutely painful loss, especially when it's so sudden and unexpected. Wishing you peace over Christmas and hoping you can find a little comfort with Amber and Fern.
