Gemporia aren't keeping up with the times in regard to jewellery trends. Dated looking designs, with highly included stones set in barely there gold, silver or gold plated ('midas' seriously?!). The days of cheap bling on every finger are gone. I just took a look at their diamonds. Every one I...
I've just done my weekly online Sainsbury's shop. Baylis & Harding handwash is currently £1.50 and some nice person will deliver as many bottles I want, to my door, along with everything else I want, for the princely sum of £7.99 a month. Do people simply not do the maths when ordering from...
I couldn't agree more. Everything I have ever been vaguely interested in I can source direct from the brand's website, often for less and usually with free, or cheaper p&p. I've just ordered an item from Boden and a couple of things from Alice Collins - All free p&p and free returns.
I wonder...
I saw Loen presenting a Tanzanite ring last night. She was doing a great job - explaining the exact specification and detail and showing it on her hand. For the first time ever, I was quietly contemplating a selly telly purchase, until the completely superfluous 'Senior Sales Manager'...
Meanwhile, Joules deliver for free if you spend over £49.00 and returns are free (and quickly processed).
Marla Wynne is terrifyingly over-priced, Monsoon seem to use QVC as an outlet, and every other 'fashion' brand is over-priced, frumpy and/or down-market, or can be bought direct from their...
Isn't it bizarre? Why bother to have channels under the same umbrella purporting to specialise in certain products but completely ignoring that. John Lewis suddenly selling meat & vegetables whilst Waitrose stocks sofas & carpets?! I don't know how much longer SB can expect his viewers to take...
Gemporia - two presenters raving about some weight loss product - and at the same time on Gemporia Lifestyle, a tanzanite wheel. It doesn't make sense!
I can't comment on this particular mattress - but I do find it surprising that anyone would risk buying a mattress from selly telly. Possibly if it was cheap as chips and for a rarely used spare room? but these aren't particularly cheap - and I know that like us, most people spend a lot of...
Yikes! Surely Kipling would have a clause in her contract along the lines of 'must not engage in disreputable activities' and how morally vacuous would you have to be to say; 'I personally have made £29 000 000' when you haven't. That's really grubby.
Glad to hear that it's not just me and a donkey watching in the early hours Deasmum! We've got a very beloved, very old, dog who needs to dash outside a couple of times a night and whilst she tends to go straight back to sleep, at the moment it's me, Derek and a cuppa! It's my guilty pleasure...
Ah - just took a look at Drew's FB page and he says that he's 'taking a sabbatical from the overnights because it all got a bit hectic' and ' working on other projects'. Doesn't look like he'll be back any time soon...
That's such an interesting point Kit. I assumed that they were on commission, so would compete for the spots where there were the most people watching, and I'm surprised that SB doesn't have a greater say in when the better presenters are scheduled. I also remember Alexandra (sorry - can't...
This relentless down market stuff - cheap clothes/scarves/candles/make-up - must be raking in the cash because the only time I ever see Gemporia getting close to what it has always purported to be about is in the early hours, where they tuck away the less shouty presenters...and the jewellery...
They must be making squillions from Opatra to be flogging it day and night like this. I had no idea that there were so many people sitting watching selly telly with so much cash to burn.
I've caught Jeff and Derek presenting in the early hours recently and they're using wheels. It seems so odd that they're tucking the more watchable presenters away in the overnight slots and actually. .gasp ..showing jewellery, when during daytime and prime time they default to shouty people...
I'm currently watching Annaliese presenting gardening stuff and I'm finding her very engaging. She's asking all sorts of entry level gardening questions - which I'm finding useful and she's giving the BA's space and opportunity to share their knowledge. She's definitely growing into the role IMO.
