Who is this awful, shouty woman?

Tuned in at 5PM yesterday out of curiosity and subjected myself to nearly an hour of Kate shouting, selling just one turquoise necklace, comparing it to other brands (while openly guessing some details of those other products), waiting for "George" to tap numbers into a calculator and suggesting...

    Postage Price Increase Incoming?

So here's a real example, just to prove that TMWNN isn't having a fit of the vapours. I just picked the first item under "silver jewellery findings" that looked generic. a) JM £7.99 + £4.95 b) Cookson Gold £7.18 + £3.49 c) Amazon from £4.99 + £2.95 (or free) Just three examples. There are...

    Postage Price Increase Incoming?

£5 a pop? Bonkers. Will make a mockery of Under £10 hours. Not all, but some people still see P&P as somehow being "extra" to the already silly prices for some items. Every time a presenter says "Where can you get a pizza/coffee/whatever for £7.99?" I always shout "It's not £7.99, It's...

    What's happened to Gemporia

Welcome to the Forum, Vlad 😁

    Monstrosities

I saw those when I did a quick price check. If you really want grandidierite, you can get a prettier, less included cab for around £25, in a wearable amount of metal. Toby did an amber presentation earlier in the day. Didn't catch it all but saw a cross pendant, closing at £70. He showed a...

    Monstrosities

Crikey! How uneven, basic these look. Both final prices! (and Ellis looking so smug and "Well done, Dave. You shouldn't have done those crazy prices". Surely, she must think it ain't right compared to what she's sold before - Tanzanite ring shystering aside!)

    Gemporia 'Downfall'

It's a fair point, which did come to mind when I wrote this. I honestly can't remember. The purchase wasn't a Jeff shift special, it was in the 9am hour. To be fair, the web price could well have been £80, although as you suggest, that would be a hefty 'live' auction discount. Perhaps it was...

    Gemporia 'Downfall'

Here's another inexplicable price hike that reveals a lot more about what Gemporia is now from what it was even two years ago. Brooch bought for £26 in auction (Love it. Zircon really are outstanding on it.) Still in stock at £80, with a discount code embargo. Just odd. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    Hi-vis cashmere workwear is back!

Agree. Bought one of the original sensible thick cashmere ones in grey check a few years ago and paid £99 I think. Expensive (for me) for a scarf but it's fabulously soft, creases fall out when you hang it up and it will almost certainly see me out (in quite a while, yet, I hope!).

    Gemporia 'Downfall'

This product, "auctioned" by Angeleen this morning, somehow encapsulates everything said over the last 24 hours. Gold tone, base metal, cheap pearls. And they still want £7.99 + £3.95 P&P

    Jade Troth is back

For me, pearls is a good example of why you really have to do your research before buying from Gemporia/Gem Collector. They are no longer "the home of affordable gemstones". When Charlie was associated with Gemporia, you wouldn't see a freshwater pearl in the building. Now they're just like...

    Jade Troth is back

Freshwater pearls are as CZ is to diamonds. Pure costume jewellery - and I'm not knocking costume jewellery one bit - but for Gem Collector to ask £350 for a single mass-produced coloured pearl with indeterminate seed size is outrageous. Gemporia keeps referring to Charlie Barron and then...

    Gem Collector - ignorance

This is either deliberate or incompetent. This stone was 8.75 x 7.50. Do these images reflect this? An 8.75mm stone would be much smaller on the hand?

    Price mark ups in auction

Honest question - Is it me or is this actually genuinely expensive? (Heated, included or SI, 2.87g 9K gold) I've had a look around (searching for: blue sapphire 9k gold cluster ring). Is the "Ceylon" origin worth that price for small, not very blue, heated and included stones?

    Ellis Is Now Totally Pointless

Ooh, Ellis saying "Tahitian" as Tarhitian makes me want to punch an overripe melon!

    Gemporia 'Downfall'

I'd rather have Jade Troth on in the background than the BBC Breakfast Show or news Chunnel. He gets credit from me on this score - I shout less at him than I do at the ignorant, ill-educated waffle put out by our beloved State broadcaster.. (Sorry, time for a CBD gummie I think 🤣)

    Birthday event

🤣🤣 It can do (and it's poisonous to dogs - US food manufacturers, who cram sweeteners into anything, put it in some of their cheaper peanut butters). Sorbitol has the same effect - power through a packet of some types of mints and you'll feel "refreshed" soon enough!

    Price mark ups in auction

Me too. I have a classic portrait (Jeff sometimes calls it "Duchess") design from The Outlet. I love the way it almost can't make up its mind if it's green or blue. It somehow seems to flex between the two, right before your eyes.

    Price mark ups in auction

Illegal? No. Shystering? Absolutely 😁. Similar situation was reported to the UK ASA. Post in thread '"House of Kimbie" - Ellis, really?' https://shoppingtelly.com/threads/house-of-kimbie-ellis-really.67478/post-1131570
