I've been doing an Agatha Christie

Lonely hearts fraud/scams are so very cruel. A person can lose so much. On the way in friends and family... on the way out cash, job, home and worst of all the ability to take a chance on love with anyone again.

    Anyone watch Eurovision?

I thought we had some overlooked strong entries in the 1990s, not just Katrina and the Waves. Love City Groove was one I really thought would be in the mix for top spot in 1995 with a perfect slice of melodic rap and summer? And who could forget Ms Oh Ah Just a little bit! No wonder Australia...

    Anyone watch Eurovision?

Thank you for posting both of those. I like Karl Jenkins' work. I'd never come across the Belgian entry but it's fantastic. Given the friction between Flemings and Walloons, a made-up language is a sensible option for them!

    Anyone watch Eurovision?

I still haven't fixed my telly, so no Eurovision for me. I thought the winning song was strong and catchy. Olly has had a total mare. His performance at the semis he had mic pack issues. The setting for the song was vile, and his voice was definitely affected. As usual there is the angst about...

I've been doing an Agatha Christie

Oh dear! A) she's now realised it was a scam and can't face the "I told you so" from friends, family and colleagues... B) she's thrown caution to the winds and is completely in the scammer's thrall... If it's A) hopefully she's a little poorer and a lot wiser. If it's B) she could be on the way...

    Words fail me!

I've never got a good feeling about Sasha as a model. And it is beyond irritating to not see garments properly. She's pretty, but not my idea of a good model. I think, given how many years she has been in Q shows, she should know better.

Glen Campbell is a bit of a fraud - discuss

I always think that noodles is much more general. Long pasta is a form of noodles (spaghetti, buccatini, linguine, fettuccine, vermicelli...), but so are soba and udon, and any of the other asian long shapes... and the long shapes used in eastern Europe, or elsewhere in the world. I'd never...

Has the consistency for Cleanse & Polish changed?

C&P has been matched if not eclipsed by the hot cloth cleansers from other retailers, and if you're going to spend more for a toiletry item it's better if it's a serum or moisturiser in my book.

    Modest Dressing Models

I have no objection to them using models who are hijabis or will only dress modestly... but the opportunity is to  style the clothes in a way that makes them saleable, surely? Frankly, Q could do better if they just ask the models to style themselves! I see lots of modest dressers with a real...

Has the consistency for Cleanse & Polish changed?

I don't use it anymore. I like the Lacura dupe when available. It wouldn't surprise me if the LE one has changed for the worse.

Maybe back by popular demand? They sometimes do that, don't they?

    JM Home TSV 26/4/24

I have a for real orchid blooming like crazy in my kitchen. I get 2 fantastic displays from it twice a year... and I paid NOTHING for it. Needless to say, this was a hard pass for me!

    Is it me???

How old is queen Julia now? Surely in the retirement zone in the ordinary world? She's probably focusing more on family and health. Part-time on QVC gives both the ego and bank balance a regular boost, I would imagine. Thing is, however much you like or dislike any presenter, the departure may...

This could be a long one!!!

The flip side of the "benefit" of being able to wear clothes and shoes for real is that everything after any proper wear is now second hand. The risk we take with Q is that they have the brass neck to sell second hand goods at the same price as new and yet do not take the care to ensure said...

    Jill Franks

Jill has a penchant for unusual tops, a predilection for pink. Unfortunately she does not seem to have a preference for clothes that are flattering to her petite frame.

    Hello

We’ve been predicting their doom due to archaic practices for a long time, but up comes the pandemic and lockdown to save their skin. Q have many good points, such as informing us of brands and products we weren’t aware of… but they are lazier with the information and demonstrations than they...

You are so right. Any nefarious actor prefers to lurk in the shadows, rather than stand in clear daylight… and friends : the real ones will give you honest feedback.

Glen Campbell is a bit of a fraud - discuss

Would love to know how on earth a fringe became bangs! Cookie instead of biscuit is Dutch origin vs French origin (and then those mad scamps call biscuits what we’d probably call scones or dumplings…

It's a shame because the scammers give the genuine ones a bad name... and sadly the scammers do seem to be the majority.
