    Hattie leaving

She'll no doubt be replaced by someone who could represent England if shrieking was an Olympic sport. The phrase that includes 'sinking ship' springs to mind.

    Quartzite Jade REALLY!

Agree with you, Marietta. I have jewellery bought from Gems over 15 years ago, and I still wear the pieces regularly and love them, and never a stone has dropped out (and some I have had checked over by a jeweller - all fine). Gold and silver weights are excellent, I have one silver ring with...

    Quartzite Jade REALLY!

I had a look at the Ryedale Auctions website, where a collection of Gemporia jewellery was auctioned over last few days (there may be more to be auctioned, I believe). A Glenn Lehrer pendant, 9ct gold, champagne quartz = hammer price £55. It'd be interesting to know how much was paid for it...

    Quartzite Jade REALLY!

Yes, you have to love the naivety, don't you? 'Sour grapes' - so we're all jealous! OK. Whatever. :ROFLMAO: Definitely in complete denial.

Do people really like John Scott

Agree, I think he's sarky and can be really rude at times. I remember him on Rocks & Co. when he used to make snidey comments about those off-camera, which said more about him than those he was being bitchy about. Full of himself.

    Oasis tickets!

I really liked Save a Prayer, although never a great Duran Duran fan.

    Quartzite Jade REALLY!

Er...you still haven't answered my reply to your previous thread comment about the jewellery you've purchased from Gemporia being "worth more than I paid for it" (your own words). Would you like to answer that, please..(or maybe there isn't an answer)?

The holiday gods have got it in for you, that's for sure... Really hope you'll feel better very soon and manage to salvage the holiday.

    What in God's name ....?

"...the one routine that Ellis Ward on Gems does when she is called on as a cabaret dancer" Mercifully, I've been spared seeing that.

    'Manure', more like....

    Random musings and general banter.

Bullseye! So bad it's good - I have a secret addiction to watching the re-runs (yes, OK, I need treatment - I know...). My excuse is that I'm waiting for Jim Bowen to tell a joke that's actually funny. I rest my case, your Honour...

    Rydale auctions

Who knows, but I'd say it's likely she spent a lot, as her posts on here seemed to indicate she bought very regularly.

    Lyndsay ...

I didn't see her...my eardrums are still recovering from her squeaking yesterday afternoon.

Another change - not for the better!

Absolutely agree. The only criteria is if you love it and can afford it. Jewellery (unless something exceptional/rare but bought for a song or gifted) is not a guaranteed investment. Like you, I have handed down gold and silver family pieces that I love, but wouldn't expect a windfall from...

Another change - not for the better!

Er....this makes no sense. So how can you possibly know that the pieces are supposedly "worth more than you paid"? What "research" can be done when you are seeing the piece on a TV/computer screen before buying it :ROFLMAO:? Or do you get them home and rush the piece to a jeweller who is...

    Paying four figures?

Just minor details, in the Wonderful World of Gemporia. Why on earth would you want 18K gold + diamonds, when you could have about ten quid's worth of silver + tiny zircons? Not much difference at all. I can only think she either can't read, so cannot see she's comparing apples with pears...

    Who buys this stuff??????

Spider's web for a giant spider? Bloomin' heck, the designer must have been on one when they designed that, talk about Nightmare on QVC.

    Rydale auctions

All I know is what I've heard on here. She passed some time ago, but I couldn't tell you how many years ago it was, and I remember reading her posts years ago on here, certainly back to around 2007-08. You're absolutely right, she was devoted to Gems and the presenters, they were like family...

    Rydale auctions

Yeah, the auctioneer doesn't hang around, does he? I watch a small video clip of him yesterday and he barrelled through about 20 lots in two minutes! Time's money, as they say, so he doesn't dwell!
