The total spend of members of parliament was £132.5 million in the 2020-21 financial year according to the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA). This was a 4.6 per cent increase on the £126.7...
My MPs office costs were £220k for staff, office, cleaning, etc., etc. with other costs, totalling £250k.
Was surprised at how high that is, employ more staff than I thought.
Multiply 650 MPs by £250k =
£163million
Are they worth it?
Well far be it for me to say "I told you so" but I'm old enough now to have seen Blair, Brown and lived during Wilson/Callaghan.
Conservatives were unelectable and Labour would cost you more. Hobson's choice.
Sunak warned that Labour would cost more!
Problem with Labour is they don't seem to...
Is that what you really think of most MPs? Just there to line their own pockets?
This reactionary view is emotional, understandable but doesn't help with the real issues.
Many of them seem decent people who want to represent and make a change for good.
My MP was earning more working as an...
This is why I think they have used Pension Credit as the WFP threshold. An existing scheme that vets income. And so they change the DWP computer to only pay WFP to those on Pension Credit.
To implement a new WFP means-tested scheme at a different threshold would cost £Xmillion more, but the...
I don't really watch TJC or IW on TV, except for a couple of minutes to dip in and see what they're doing. The TJC TV presentation is usually just jewellery and while selling doesn't seem particularly overblown and a bit more factual about items. Prices are often high though for gold, silver...
The light one I saw him selling last night was corded, had a cord. The one that could be split up and had the dirt bin as a tube up near the handle end.
He kept saying you didn't have to worry if it's charged up - because it doesn't have a battery.
I posted earlier about it.⤴️
Yeah, the new teeth didn't help, then.
Anne Hegarty, The Governess also seems to suffer this affliction a little too, firty fousand pounds!
Stephen Mulhern on Catchphrase: you've won twenty thousand Poooouuuuunnndddsssss.
'Paourwnds'.
Interesting hadn't noticed either; will look/listen out for that.
Do you mean like Labett, the Beast in The Chase, since he's had his teeth done, he seems to pronounce three as 'free' and other 'th' words and it's all a bit indistinct.
They get overbite from the overlarge prominent crowns...
Detox? What a lot of crock!
Anything labelled detox is snake oil, imho.
On the skin it might extract something from the skin but your body excretes anything unwanted.
And anything taken orally, is just processed by the acids in the stomach and either absorbed as vitamins, sugars, fat...
Strictly Come Dancing.
Wow. For the first time since I've watched Strictly, Claudia looks HOT!
A tight-fitting red, sparkly, body-hugging cat suit!
Grrrowl! More of this please and makes a great change to her usual black, black and black!
2 mins via the app:
'ave a corded cr@p vacuum with low power and smaller capacity, because you don't want to worry about the battery charge of your cordless.
Power where you want it, on the stairs, landing.
Except of course you'll have to plug it in and hope the cord is long enough and doesn't...
I finally ordered 2 small boxes, my first ever IW3 purchase.
Within a week they sent me email and phoned for a customer feedback survey.
I told them what I thought about their prices and presentation style and lack of ethics!
Gourav said he wrote it all down and will feedback.
I expect zero change.
