    Has Chloe Everton left QVC?

The law for 52 weeks applies to the person who has had the baby. The 2 weeks to their partner. I don't believe gender is even mentioned. That's a statutory minimum, but employment contracts/agreements may offer more. I think QVC presenters are self-employed, and often have flexible terms etc.

    Nails Inc TSV 15/8/24

I'm wondering now whether it's actually 2 options, or just the one option with the two deliveries? BTW Am assuming by DF you mean Debbie Flint?

    QVC profits

It's a problem affecting almost all retail. I'm certainly no financial genius but it seems clear that, since profits were down by a much higher percentage than turnover, QVC's expenses (running costs, stock etc) soared during that period (as they did for just about every business). It suggests...

The Huntley - where has she gone ?

Hoping I'm not going to get a barrage of criticism for what I'm about to write, but here goes … Catherine's clearly been through something very unpleasant and, regardless of how many pieces of personal information she has shared in the past, she is entitled (at any stage) to keep whatever she...

The Huntley - where has she gone ?

Of course, when they started the old age pension, it was assumed that few people would reach that age and contributions were calculated to account for that. Nowadays most people do reach that age (and many years beyond), thankfully, and it makes it so much more expensive. Having people work...

    Alison Cork

Oh dear … the way I see it, if someone's content with how they look, then good luck to them! As a society, we're not very kind about each other's appearance, so it's no wonder we can feel pressurised to make changes. Each to his or her own, I reckon … even those of us preferring to remain with...

    What was he thinking.....

I had absolutely no idea what you were meaning until I'd read the other comments on this thread. I'm a supporter of the Royals, hate anything that smells of disrespect for anyone - not just Royals BTW and I didn't find it in the slightest bit offensive or inappropriate. I didn't like the brooch...

    Diamonique Design Of The Month

I have plenty of diamonique pieces. Some of them I've had for more than a decade. Many of them regularly, and constantly, worn. I have never had an issue with any of the stones coming loose, looking cheaply set, nor with any of the plating thinning. The last piece I bought was a ring and I have...

The Huntley - where has she gone ?

Catherine came back o QVC earlier this month. Since then she has tested positive for Covid-19 and has to isolate. I imagine that's not the type of time off she would have preferred.

Nail polish: I wondered if …..

It's something they've been advocating for years. I think it's just there term 'sandwiching' is newer. I've always found that base coat, polish and top coat in combo is the best way to get a smooth and longer-lasting manicure.

    Peace Now

No need to get annoyed with this, is there? There are a whole host of t-shirt slogans that could be considered rude or offensive to be irritated or upset by. By comparison to those, 'Peace Now' would seem to be a fairly benign sentiment. I mean, literally, benign.

    Yankee Candle TSV 02/11/21

It does mean 'American', but this is a stereotypical description, and sometimes has a slightly uncomplimentary use, as in 'those yanks!' etc. It is not, however, offensive. Yankee is also a description of an American from New England, where Yankee Candle are, of course, based.

    Yankee Candle TSV 02/11/21

I agree, it's not considered derogatory at all. It's just a way of denoting an area and its culture.

    Kirks Folly - She’s back

A lot of what they did stayed more on the sentimental, positive-thinking side of things, though. I have to say I don't remember it being like a fairy-believing cult. A lot of people like the idea of magical beings, without ardently believing in them. Take unicorns, for example. I'm sure there's...

    Debbie Flint on the news.

While we all have our own opinions on politics and morals etc, I'm not sure how practical it is to, effectively, banish/boycott all those whose opinion differs from our own. I know I'd just send myself inside-out, if I tried to. There's just no way anyone can guarantee that they will never give...

    UK Lash TSV 19/08/21

Years ago I used Revitalash which I loved but, in the end, found too expensive. Since Lockdown I've been wearing less makeup so have noticed that my lashes were a bit 'blah' again. I've been using UKLash for around 6 weeks now and I have to say it's great! This past week my lashes have really...
