You might not have seen it on the grainy footage viewers, but on the 10th November 1978, Neil Armstrong, part of the Apollo 9 mission to the moon, had these very watches in a hold-all when he stepped on the moon. That's right viewers, these watches that you're looking at right now have been ON...

DO NOT BUY THE NECK FAN, I REPEAT DO NOT BUY THE NECK FAN!!! I bought it and let's just say it's a LOT more powerful than you might think. How powerful? Well, I live in Scotland and I'm typing this from the Faroe Islands!!! My neighbours looked on in disbelief as I went up up and awaaaaay. :(

As I mentioned before, using the TV comedy Keeping Up Appearances for reference, QVC target Hyacinth and Richard. IW target Daisy and Onslow ;) One thing these channels get right is knowing their target market and as you say, the products reflect this.

Bear in mind when IW use the word 'limited' they are using it in the context of the ancient Greek meaning, which was ... We have fecking loads left!

'I demanded to the producer that I do this show. I wanted to be the one to launch this small plastic tabletop Japanese garden ornament for you, £9.99 and on 25 flexis. I also negotiated the low price, down from the £10.20 they wanted to launch it at ...' tbh call me a cynic, I don't believe...

I know nowt of what happens behind the scenes but, in the main, I would doubt it.

I believe everything they say. To cover all bases, I vacuum with a cordless in my left hand and corded in my right.

Whoa whoa whoa! Let's just take a step back here. It's almost as if you're suggesting selly telly presenters make stuff up? How DARE you!!! ;)

I think I saw you that day in Tesco's. Were you the guy wearing the t-shirt that said 'I love Bid TV' on the front with a picture of Peter Simon on the back?

Ok I have a confession to make. For the first time ever I bought a product off selly telly and it was this one. Tried it yesterday in my back garden for the first time, all was going well for the first 30 secs or so then ... ... the weight flew off, went flying over my garden fence and...

'We're not trying to frighten you, but what happens if a crazed killer breaks into your house, you're in bed all alone, and you wake up to find him standing at the bottom of your bed with a chainsaw in his hand ... a chainsaw that is already dripping in blood. Where is fido your pet dog...

Like the car or double glazing salesperson. 'OK look, I've spoken to my boss. He's not overly happy about it, I had to twist his arm a bit lol, but I've managed to get you 10% off!' Hint, the customer was always getting offered 10% off if they were even slightly hesitant in signing on the...

Yeah, they all do it to varying degrees, not sure if QVC is the exception. C&C used to talk about a 'business in a box' although I suppose you could argue it's more reasonable for them to use that tactic given viewers are making stuff that can be sold on at craft fairs etc. As we've said...

We're selling you this item for £19.99. However you could easily sell it on for £49.99 all day long. Why aren't we selling it for even a bit more e.g. £29.99 if we know its true retail value is £49.99? Yes, why aren't you? MMmmm, I wonder ;)

To be fair it's a great plan, buy their great value kayak for £50 and slap it on eBay for £150 or maybe even £200. Because I'll tell you something, their price of £50 can't be beaten ... ... oh wait...

Buy the IW air fryer for £120, or choose from many others online for £60 ... or less! Comparable specs. Great value? Aye right!

I for one need a watch that's designed for depths up to 1,000,000,000,000 feet. My baths can be quite deep you know!

Everything about ALL these channels is geared towards 'encouraging' viewers to buy and ideally asap. Fine, they're shopping channels. It's what they exist to do. However please don't insult viewer intelligence by trying to suggest the formula isn't designed to encourage the viewer to buy...

I've said numerous times I'd love to know how much they get paid. Obviously it'll vary between presenters, duration on screen etc. Tbh it's just out of curiosity more than anything else. Would we think 'As little as that??' or 'MMmm, not bad I suppose' or 'How much?!?' As you say, if they're...
