    Largest Auction Ever!

How much did they sell for? I wasn't watching, but saw them on a promo and thought they looked seriously cheap and nasty. I love pearls, but not if they're tat!
  2. MissMagpie

    Illiterate!

I see they've corrected the spelling of 'art nouveau'...
  3. MissMagpie

    Illiterate!

LOL - guilty as charged! But, to be fair, I'm not a multi-million pound business, and I can't afford anyone to proof-read my posts! (Though maybe I could if I didn't buy so much bling...)
  4. MissMagpie

    Illiterate!

The thing is, it's just so unprofessional, and might well give the casual viewer the impression that TJC are a bunch of fly-by-night cowboys. We know that this is definitely not the case, and that they are in fact a reputable company selling quality jewellery, but they're not doing thesmelves...
  5. MissMagpie

    Illiterate!

Oh, dear - it gets worse! Take a look at this banner on TJC's website:

    Illiterate!

The banner at the top of this page: "One Of The Three Most Beautiful Stones Ever Came [sic] Across By Man"... oh dear! Bizarre claim, too... I think the three most beautiful stones are rainbow moonstone, kunzite and bi-coloured tourmaline. It's pretty subjective!

    Patronising and insulting promo's

I must say I quite like the promos of the woman going nuts after seeing something she's bought going for less in a sale. It's obviously meant to be tongue-in-cheek, a bit of a lighthearted send-up (like quite a few of their other promos) - I don't think Rocks TV REALLY think consumers would...

    Couldn't resist...

Erm....Well I suppose I could, if I want everyone to think (or should that be realise?) I'm a sad weirdo...
  9. MissMagpie

    Couldn't resist...

Good idea - perhaps I will! Or when going to dinner in the homes of close friends, who won't be surprised by my eccentricity... (I'm not Jacqualine, by the way...)

    Couldn't resist...

Buying a sterling silver, marcasite and seed pearl TIARA from the German sister channel, juwelo.tv! It is really very beautiful - but I doubt I'll ever wear it! I'm several decades too old for a prom, and too happily single ever to be a bride. I suppose it will have to wait until one of my...

    Calling Miss Magpie!!

Oh, no - missed it! What kind of pieces did they have? What was the bracelet like?
  12. MissMagpie

    Now I'm addicted to juwelo.tv!

Oh, crumbs - I've been watching Juwelo online rather a lot (due to a glut of the most amazing rainbow moonstone pieces), and I've just realised that my German (which I studied for 'O' Level 28 years ago...showing my age there) is actually improving! Do you think I might be watching a bit too...

    Earrings - Now Returnable??

I have always assumed that this was an oblique reference to the fact that they would have to refund you if the goods were faulty. But I've just been looking at the distance selling regulations online, and I think you could be right, Lexxy...

    Earrings - Now Returnable??

I've been sending earrings back to TJC for ages now, and I've always received a refund no problem...Having said that, though, they've always been cheapies. I wouldn't risk buying expensive earrings from TJC without definite confirmation that their policy has changed.

    Now I'm addicted to juwelo.tv!

You're right, BB. Chancellor Merkel should be very grateful. My knowledge of German is minimal, and I can only occasionally understand anything they are saying, but I still like watching it! Everything seems to sell very fast , so it must be popular.
  16. MissMagpie

    Now I'm addicted to juwelo.tv!

Juwelo TV is Rocks & Co's sister channel in Germany, and they have got LOADS of rainbow moonstone at the moment - my clicky finger has been very busy! The also have a vareity of things that Rocks & Co don't have, including silver items, hairclips and brooches. They are NOT cheap, but they do...

    Does GemsTV have a website?

Yes, a freetext search field would be very helpful indeed.

    Windows

With a properly cut gemstone, all the light entering the gem should be reflected off the back facets, meaning that you shouldn't be able to see through it when viewed straight on. Windowing occurs when the cut of the gem is too shallow, meaning that the back facets are at the wrong ange and...

    Appeal for more rainbow moonstone!

The best Indian moonstone CAN be as good as Sri Lankan, but what makes Rocks & Co's rainbow moonstone so special is that it is completely eye-clean with no inclusions, as well as having strong blue schiller. You probably know that moonstone is usually cut as a cabochon, but Rocks & Co facet...

    Appeal for more rainbow moonstone!

OK - since you ask! Some of these have already arrived; others still awaited. Rainbow moonstone gold earrings: http://media.juwelo.de/large/2189KL.jpg http://media.juwelo.de/large/3967BI.jpg http://media.juwelo.de/large/5653CW.jpg Some silver and marcasite/seed pearl items (remember the...
