Yarvik Smartphone Tech of the Week... Bit Rubbish

You know, when I saw this, I thought it was quite a good Tech of the Week... But then Bid aren't really saying much about the specs. It's running ICS, which is getting long in the tooth with Android now, 4GB internal is going to eaten up largely by the Android OS itself. No mention of the...

Snotty letter from Bid customer services

Lets be fair here, there was ample proof that Sit Up have a tiny amount of stock of certain brands. They were selling Sony laptops for a pittance, with only a few in stock. It was like a lottery. Peter Simon would proudly state that "hundreds of you missed out there". How is that not proof?

Snotty letter from Bid customer services

Wirral is bang on with this one. The Yarvik tablets aren't the great deals they look like. Bigger brands, like Acer, sell similar spec tablets for similar prices.

Snotty letter from Bid customer services

Nothing short of ridiciulous. Snotty doesn't begin to describe it, I'd say it's down-right insulting. It's your legal right to cancel purchases; to tell you that they don't want your custom because of it... beyond words, I guess Sit-Up aren't a fan of making money. I recently dealt with...

    Introduction of the Clock

I never really thought of it that way. I always thought of the Sit-Up channels as a stack them high, sell them cheap kind of channel. They try and get as many products on screen as possible because it allowed them to give lower margins then their competitors, who happily spend an hour on one...

    Introduction of the Clock

I've been thinking this for a while - ever since the SitUp channels introduced a clock for their sales (it was around 2008-ish, wasn't it?), a major piece of the channels died. Sure, people can say the quality of products has decreased or there's far less selection then before. But the...

    In praise of Steve McDonald

I feel he's the best of the whole lot; up there with Andy. He's almost always really entertaining and genuinely funny. Never does he give the impression he's thinking "another day in the office", like many others do. He makes an event out of his timeslots in such a way that you can't not watch...

    Where's the website gone?

I've been a lurker of this forum for a while (probably a couple of months), but I felt compelled to provide the really boring answer onto why bid.tv was down for a short while (apologies in advance for boring you all). The page some of you were getting was a common domain parking page. Usually...
