Are Bid & Price Drop Shutting Down in January?

Would assume that it's just inaccurate; shopping channels must be on the lowest priority when it comes to accuracy with the EPG. Bid themselves on their own website don't bother with updating it correctly occasionally.

    Chris Birkett

It's a shame, I thought he was quite entertaining, at least when he'd occasionally banter with the other staff.

    Andy Hodgson should be fired!

I honestly can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not. I personally think he's the best presenter for the entire channel, by far. He doesn't do hard sales or pressure tactics. He just says what the product is, and what it isn't. He doesn't allow viewers to make assumptions about a product...

    Counting down the clock...

I always assumed it was because they run out of bollocks to say. The Bid TV equivalent of mentioning the weather, maybe?

    "its a penny...

They're not obligated to, they're a private company, owned by a public investment firm (Aurelius). That said, I think Aurelius did publish some very, very abridged recent accounts for Bid Shopping, and they were losing money. It's drop in the bucket for them, at least that's the impression I...

    Almost Too Bizarre For Words

As Peter would say himself, maybe he's acting a bit like a power c*nt? Sorry, any excuse to reference that, and I must

    Is It Just Me?

Pretty much this. It's still entertaining. Not all the presenters are bad though, Hodgson especially is very honest and consistantly avoids any hard selling, so credit where due.

    Returns Policy?

Depends on the item, I suppose. Returned stock doesn't always get resold for most retailers. I would assume (at least, I would most certainly hope) that returned units, working or otherwise, would be gutted by the manufacturer and the internals used for other units, as opposed to being resold...

    Mike not being honest again.

Most warehouses work on a "Just in Time" system. As the name suggests, they don't work weeks ahead into the future, they work days ahead, sometimes hours ahead, by design. While I'm not doubting that Mike spouts some total bollocks, "we need to clear the warehouse now" isn't unrealistic.

    who is he?

Blooody hell, never seen Bid or Price-Drop try and hork an axe before. God only knows what kind of sales tactics Mr Mason uses for that. Hopefully the same people buying those worry angels aren't buying the axe...

    Tablet?

It doesn't look too bad. Although I've always been sceptical of it, because they never actually demo it, they just have it sit still on the home screen. They'll talk about the features, but they don't actually show them. NowTV (which is a Sky company) have a smart TV box for £10, but it only...

    Tablet?

The "iMedia" brand I believe is just AEI/Digisender, which is a small British electronics company. Certainly not a big brand at all, but if you have one of those boxes that split a Sky box amongst multiple TVs, that's likely made by Digisender. All the Bid/Price Drop tablets are pretty garbage...

Mike Mason and the two-minute clock

Considering he has an earpiece and an autoscript at all times where the production team can give him information without having to put any of it on screen... :mysmilie_845:

    Mike not being honest again.

It's almost as if you can buy the product by going on the website shown on-screen and not have to pay the £1.58...
