The mention of Cheryl Cole every time PCMC airs really annoys me.
For a start, she is a very young woman and thus would be expected to have pretty good, line-free skin at that age - with or without premium skincare. It does nothing to convince me of the effectiveness of that product to...
I don't equate a brief appearance on TV once every few years as part of a 'family' day to being a professional presenter. And as such, I don't think remarks about Sophie's personal appearance are fair game.
To be honest, I don't particularly like personal remarks about anyone (certainly not...
Ladies, ladies (and gents), you are all slipping - I can't believe it took 6 whole pages before anyone mentioned Jan Springer.
I would also add NN scary woman, the South African bloke, and any American guest who tries to emphasize every word in a sentence. Do you know what EMPHASIZE actually...
Basically, it's fraud isn't it?
They are selling goods as new, when they are actually second hand and used. And charging the full price for them.
Returned goods - even if the tags have not been removed and there are no obvious signs of use - should not be resold as new.
I think this needs further clarification.
To me 'cancellation' means changing your mind before the order is sent out, not simply returning it quickly. However, we all know that QVC virtually never let you cancel an item, as they almost always claim the order is 'In process' within hours of it...
I hadn't ordered anything from QVC for the best part of a year, for a combination of reasons. Firstly, that they don't take Solo cards, secondly, they overcharge for shipping then only post 2nd class, and thirdly, they take an unacceptable amount of time to process refunds.
A couple of weeks...
The food processer costs 16p more on Amazon - but you save £6.95 postage, and would probably get it in about half the time, so not sure I agree with you, Louise.
It was quite a harsh telling off, in that she sounded genuinely cross, rather than just jokey, and being at the start of the programme, before there had been any other banter or conversation somehow made it sound all the more serious.
But - I have to say, he drives me nuts with his constant...
You have to wonder about the wisdom of the 'cult brand' mentality.
It's all very well having a feature in Grazia or wherever about the fab new foundation/lippy/perfume that's only available at Harvey Nicks, Space NK or Pout but if people can't buy it, a market will never be built. Then the...
This is a genius thread - I haven't laughed so much since Pompoos!
My burning questions to the presenters:-
Do you really use £38 Elemis Milk Bath on your kids?!
Do you take morphine before the epilator TSVs so you can pretend they're painless?
Don't you just want to punch Jan Springer...
A while ago someone posted a link to a newspaper or magazine article that did a kind of 'behind the scenes' reveal on QVC.
I think it did mention tv screens off studio displaying product numbers sold, sales revenue etc which quite surprised me.
Not sure about the commission angle - they must...
The impression I'd always got was that Lulu had used lotions and potions from other companies for years, making a note of what seemed to work and what didn't in order to identify key ingredients - not that she'd actually ever mixed or formulated anything herself.
Given Alison's emphasis on...
Jill presumably doesn't have spastic limbs though, so you could argue it's inappropriate to use the term to liken her enthusiasm for a product to people who can't control their movements. Perhaps not meant to be deliberately offensive, but quite a pathetic remark nonetheless....
To me, that sounds as though it means pretty much the same thing in both languages - the 'clumsiness' being derived from the movements of disabled people with spasticity - so I don't buy the 'cultural differences' and 'meaning something non-offensive in the US' argument.
Aside from whether or...
