Did anyone catch the 9pm Watch show last night? Peter Simon and Kevinski were extolling the virtues of a £750 Vostock watch-winder display case and not only was one of the watches being wound a quartz model but the close up pictures of the case showed a missing rivet! The missing rivet is...

This is the new 'compact' sized Vostock says the returned Kevinski about a watch he proudly tells us is 43mm :mysmilie_48: In what world are 43mm watches considered anything but large?

I didn't see that but I am watching him selling the 'Energia' and repeatedly using its weight of 350g as a sign of quality and 'definitive watchmaking'. The heaviest watch in my collection is an Oris diver rated for 1,000m (the Energia is only rated for 300m) and it's built like a beautiful...

Well Ideal have done it again. Step aside Vostock Europe, we have a range of even uglier watches! Every case is worse than the one before.

Ignoring the ridiculously inflated retail price of a lot these watches (Vostock especially), the actual cost price is probably minimal. It wouldn't surprise me if the suppliers allow presenters to buy at cost or, probably even more likely, give them free samples so they can say they own one...

To be fair the NH35 is a workhorse and the ones in my collection all keep excellent time but, as you say, they are budget movements and can be had for less than £25 on Aliexpress. The Invicta Pro-Diver which has been mentioned before on this thread has one and they can be had for comfortably...

There was also a point where they were talking about the processor in the phone and Mike proclaimed it was a Snapdragon 845 and he had actually heard of it! According to Mike (and uncorrected by the 'expert') it was almost unheard of this chip to be put in a phone and it was better suited to...

At a point with this channel when nothing should surprise me, that has left me genuinely shocked. At current exchange rates Jomashop are selling the watch for less than £430 (and I very much doubt they are losing on the deal) while Ideal are charging an eye-watering £1,350. Even if you take...

They are also freely available in other watches and not quite the exclusive, rarely seen, items that Kevinski tries to make out. 'Nite' are a small independent British watch brand offering a small range of nicely designed watches all of which offer GTLS illumination. I have one, it cost far...

There was a short clip shown on Sunday night which seemed to show that there are indeed a handful of these 'collectors' who gather togther on occasion and refer to themselves as a family. These are, I guess, the ones who Kevinski and Dirty Peter regularly name drop on the show and who are...

What I can't understand is why PS is continually telling buyers to take their watches to a specialist to get it valued. There is no way on earth anyone reputable would put a high value on these things so I'm guessing he is either confident that very few people will actually bother to do it or...

What's even sadder is that for £50,000 he could actually have gathered a much smaller but extremely enviable collection of genuine 'high-end' watches comprising the likes of Rolex, Omega, Breitling etc. He might only have a handful of watches as a result but each one would be of real and obvious...

It's not just your opinion. The Google Assistant is widely acknowledged to be streets ahead of Siri in both voice recognition and its abilities. Make you wonder why Ideal would avoid mentioning that doesn't it? Coming from Windows phone I think it's more a case of deciding what OS you want to...

They have yet another 'Tech Expert' shilling it this morning. You can tell he is a tech expert because he confidently says that one of the advantages of Apple is that the phone has less chance of catching 'diseases'. It took Shreque of all people to tell him he meant viruses. This channel is...

To be fair to Ideal World though they do appear to have stopped selling the ancient iPad 3 and now have a newer version! The iPad 4 which was introduced in, let's see, 2012! Oh :mysmilie_51: Number of mentions that this 'must have' gadget and the 'one that everyone wants' was six years out of...

How is it possible that every single thing Brodel cooks ends up looking so beige and repulsive? For the love of god try cooking something healthy!

Admittedly I was jumping channels at the time and so may not have caught this properly but I saw him as he stood on his own (as Granny Smith always used to do) demonstrating the voice search abilities of the phone. As I started watching he had the phone facing him and said 'Google how do you...

Honestly, I wouldn't even believe that. It's not hard to imagine the presenters don't get offered (or lent) free samples to use themselves for publicity purposes. The simplest approach to this channel is to assume EVERYTHING is misleading.

X-Ultimate Pro Drone. New kind of GPS?

Stupid, without a doubt! Mind you, that also goes for the vast majority of the presentations. Every time Janice sells one of those nearly six year old iPads I can see the same thought going through her mind.

This is a perfect analogy. It’s exactly what they are and I can only assume their viewers are buying in fairly significant numbers given the regularity of the watch shows. Sadly I haven’t seen a single watch which in future is likely to be worth a fraction of what was paid for it. It’s not...
