Get ready for the 'unspeakable in pursuit of the unremarkable' with Dennice Robinson, Shaun Ryan and Peter Simon launching Ideal's 16th 'Birthday Party' later. If only there were a picture to capture the fake glamour and ridiculous pretensions of such a party...

Just like to add my best wishes. Hope it all went well:happy:

What about combining the scarflace demonstration with another Ideal product. High fashion and Fabulift anyone?

Peter Simon is but a pale imitation of this man

You might be interested in this Twitter tribute site: https://twitter.com/graysonlarry Whoever's behind it has a remarkable grasp of Larry Grayson's mannerisms, and tweets very much in his style.

I imagine Mike Mason at home with his Goddess, crying into her lap and wailing, “Why do they hate me, love? Why?!” She strokes his bald head and reassures him that it’s simply jealousy. “Of course!” says Mike, even though he knew that already (what with all his amazing talent and all that)...

Peter Simon speaks for the dead

It would appear that the lunatics (presenters) have taken over the asylum. Peter Simon is the most obvious example, but a certain grubbiness and absurdity characterises the whole channel. Take Big Brodders ‘Man versus Food’ show which is on twice today. Ideal’s cover story is that he’s there...

The continuing saga of Shaun's (sales boosting) Nan and her implausibly austere life... “Isn’t it great that we can all take advantage of such a wonderful coffee machine? You know, when I think back to what my Nan had to go through just to make me a cup of tea”... Just how does this man sleep...

Agreed. The problem is that the gluten-free thing has become something of a health fad, with millions of people globally removing gluten from their diet. I'm not sure if Paul Brodel was referencing the celaic sufferers per se, or those who have simply jumped on the 'Free From' bandwagon, which...

    Random musings and general banter.

Whilst displaying a food mixer on an earlier show, Paul Brodel made an unusual concession to healthier eating by mentioning something about a ‘gluten-free mixture’. Realising his mistake, and clearly keen not to appear too preachy, he began swilling back some juice, and then diving into some...

A cleaning product called ‘Shadazzle’ is featuring on Ideal World tomorrow- http://www.idealworld.tv/shows/Shadazzle-2577932 The product name reminded me of a famous quote by W.C. Fields:“If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit.” Both fronts covered here...

I see that Shaun Ryan has been on flogging some lightweight mobility scooter. Didn't see the show, but I did wonder if he had mentioned his late Nan's wheelchair... I'm sure he regrets not replacing it when he had the chance.

    Chef william

I’m surprised 'Chef' William hasn’t followed Paul Brodel by producing his own ‘basics with a twist’ cookery book. Such a culinary maverick is sure to have many ideas for never seen before food combinations... (Caveat: The tuna and cheese combo is just a suggestion and is in a pre-Kennelly...

Hayley Green, tw@ of the year? Most out of place sales angle?

Beyond the pale and makes no sense at all. The crassness of her comment speaks of someone under great pressure, or having a complete detachment from the economic hardships facing millions of people. It's been said many times on this forum, but the channel seems to be sinking fast. Perhaps the...

Indeed Howard, now I DON'T believe a word you say :)

Regarding Derek Bel(Kar)cher, his departure from Ideal World was announced by their most sincere presenter in this most touching tribute: http://blog.idealworld.tv/presenter-blogs/shauns-one-to-watch/goodbye-derek-belcher Clearly overcome with emotion, and doubtless holding back the finest...

It has just occurred to me that Shaun might have arranged to have his Nan's ancient mattress delivered to Ideal World after she passed away. It could be the very same mattress that they use for those ridiculous memory foam/spring mattress comparisons. Looks about the right age.
