I thought Craig was a nice person

Not true. You have two choices : you can Deactivate your account or you can Delete it. Deactivating it means the account is held in limbo - it becomes invisible to other FB users and your posts all disappear as if you were never there, but if you decide you want to use it again you can...

I thought Craig was a nice person

They will only get what you choose to give them. My FB account would give a hacker nothing. Not my real name, no address, no phone number, no date of birth, no country, no photos of me. Just an email address that I opened for FB only, which has no connection with anything else in my life, and...

I thought Craig was a nice person

But if you don't understand what it's possible to do with it, how can you know that it can't enhance your life? You must have some interests, passions, charitable areas that you care about? Whatever they are there are thousands of like-minded people on FB that can broaden those particular...

I thought Craig was a nice person

I agree, which is why I and everyone I know use their FB settings to stop strangers seeing anything they post. My posts can only be seen by those I specify, and none of my personal details can be seen by anyone but me. If anyone here looked at my FB page, for example, all they'd see is a blank...

I thought Craig was a nice person

I am not "friends" on FB with any of my relatives or offline friends at all, so spend no time looking at people's selfies, pics of tattoos etc. My FB "friends" are all over the world, and together we have formed a rescue network that is raising hundreds of thousands of pounds and rescuing and...

    Memory Foam

If you're worried about a traditional memory foam mattress or topper being too warm for you, there are several cool foam brands available now which don't make you hot. I've had both, and the cool foam is great - comfort without being too warm.

No problem - would be a boring world if we all felt the same.

Most definitely. There's a big difference between trusting the skills a person has acquired and respecting them as a person, and that someone is an excellent surgeon doesn't automatically make them a decent human being deserving respect. It's also perfectly possible to have respect for a...

    Clare on the cooking show

Personally I've been working non-stop for 44 years and I've never called a boss "Mr", "Mrs" or "Miss". From the day I started work at 18 I've been on christian name terms with everyone I've ever worked with or for. Either they earned the respect of those who worked under them or they didn't...

    Blimey Dame Joan!!

They've banned and blocked me nine times so far, I just go straight back with a new name. They don't like what I say about Dennis Basso and the fact that almost all the cosmetics/skincare they sell are cruel products. They kept putting up a statement that had incorrect information about the EU...

    Blimey Dame Joan!!

Many FB posters have complained vehemently about the "x" on the staff posts. QVC's MD has said he instructed the Social Media team to end their posts with "x" because he thinks it's appropriate for "the informality of social media". I don't blame the staff for having a boss who's an idiot.

    Blimey Dame Joan!!

I wonder that you spend so much time prowling here if you have so many better things to do. The shame is that because of the image it projects many good people don't join here.

I always called my father by his Christian name.

    Blimey Dame Joan!!

My memory is perfectly fine thank you very much. The only time that I have posted anything that you may choose to label "nasty" was when I told the absolute truth about the behaviour of somebody else on this forum who had treated and continues to treat fellow forum members and others...

    Blimey Dame Joan!!

If your perception of FB is of "what people have for their dinner, or photographs of it to wince over" then your perception of FB is pretty warped I'm afraid Brissles! The QVC FB page is just like this forum, with threads of posts on all different topics. It's more balanced, though, as people...

    Clare on the cooking show

I had a Nanna, two Nans and a Grandad, but the only one I was close to was my Nanna, my Mum's "Mummy". She died 41 years ago, and I still miss her a lot.

    What does Chuntley look like!

You answered that question yourself when you said that Catherine said "she would've made it her chosen career if she were not on QVC". She didn't say she wants to change careers, she said that now being a nail technician would be her second choice. She's doing her first choice of career, so...

    What does Chuntley look like!

Maybe over the years she just changed her mind? I would certainly choose a different career now from the one I'd have chosen years ago, we often look for different things from life as we get older.

    Clare on the cooking show

My 90 year old Mum and her 83 year old sister always called my grandmother "Mummy" and still refer to her as that when they talk about her, I've never heard them call her anything else. I don't know why it's stayed as "Mummy" their whole lives, my Mum says it wouldn't occur to them to call her...

    Blimey Dame Joan!!

I have to say I'm never surprised by the warped perception so often displayed here, because the overwhelming tone of the forum is heavily critical. Posts in favour of QVC, its products or its presenters are rare, and some people are so obviously looking for something they can criticise that...
