I've been on one of those ships! Or 2 I should say as I loved the cruise so much the first year that I persuaded my parents to come the second year which was almost the same itinerary in reverse. I wouldn't be buying baubles though, I'd leave that to the Americans and the Chinese/Japanese...
I bought some in Jan when they were a Big Deal or something and they were £32.88 plus 4 quid p&p so these are slightly cheaper. I bought a set last year and they were virtually the same price then. Neither of my sets had the dividers but I wouldn't use those anyway.
Does anyone remember the quite short lived range of 'more affordable' Yankee candles. Called Scentbeads, they were teeny tiny grains in a jar which QVC said were made specifically for one US retailer. I bought quite a few and always had a great throw of scent from them...and they were much cheaper.
I had an email about Halloween and was so astonished that I sent a screenshot to my mum who said it had just been on tv that Harrods had their Christmas window displays up! The world has gone mad.
I flicked across channels to Gems for the first time in weeks and there was Professor Troth with very peculiar facial hair I might add (how long has that been going on?) droning on about red jade bangles. I wonder what they actually are. I'm sure one of you could enlighten me truthfully rather...
Omg what has Droning Troth done to his facial hair? I was flicking across channels late tonight and there he was flogging red jade bangles (has he bought the entire eu jade mountain?) And he had very peculiar shaped face furniture. Looks like the very beginning of a poirot style twirly moustache...
I can't believe the prices that Yankee still get away with! If you add the p&p then the wreath is pretty much £1 per tealight with a bit of cardboard and a little glass holder thrown in. I get all mine from outlet stores or in the sales now.
Genius! I use big pans of boiling water on each shelf and shut the door, letting the steam do the trick. But I have a wooden stir-fry type spatula thing that I sort of karate chop at the stubborn piece of ice at the top, doesn't harm the freezer that way.
When I was at uni in London I had a friend who was a mature student who wanted a career change from being a chef (she was in the Egon Ronay guide or something like that)and she lived in Guernsey. Every holiday she'd get an amazing cake from the original Patisserie Valerie in Soho. They looked...
You're lucky, where I work you can't make an appt for a doctor at the desk, you have to phone up or do it online where they triage it. If it is urgent it is normally booked same day but if not urgent then 3 weeks would be lucky!
There's usually a mix of appointments, in person or by phone depending on the problem. It doesn't help either that every day multiple patients just don't turn up for appointments and the slot is wasted.
I just started working at a doctor's surgery and I can tell you that we are overwhelmed by the workload. Doesn't help that the funding from the NHS was only 2% more than the previous year and yet the minimum wage went up by about 9% and inflation was way more than 2%. Previously I worked in the...
Ah yes I bought Iris bleu & iris blanc (or t'other way round!) hand cream in the sale which was nice. And vanille & narcisse might have been the other? I agree stronger scents back then, or so it seemed.
I liked the sets they did in square bottles like Jasmine and Bergamot, Magnolia and Mure (whatever that was), Amber and Santal, Mer and Mistral and Thé vert and something, also Neroli and Orchideé. Yes I'm being a bit vague but I bet l'occitane fans know what I'm on about! And they used to do a...
