    Opal lovers.....look at this!

I don't think they always do unfortunately. A couple of years ago (so things may have changed now), I liked the look of an opal pendant and I asked whether it was a doublet. It turned out to be a triplet so I gave it a miss but it didn't say anything in the description.

    Tiffany diamonds by the yard?

Aaaaaah explains all! Did you just see the 11ct pear? WOW - even somebody who isn't wildly keen on Zu .... Csarite, wouldn't mind that one! So will the finance guy still be selling a gem called Zultanite or has that become defunct now? Presumably if he's not at the mine he won't have any...

    Opal lovers.....look at this!

Very pretty - because of the price, can I suggest you ask TJC whether they are doublets or triplets? The reason I say that is because it's important to know for the general care. I know they regularly sell doublets so I would assume these are but it's worth checking just in case they are...

    Tiffany diamonds by the yard?

OMG when did the name change happen? How odd! Thanks for the heads up. Nice to see some items in platinum back on the menu. I'm glad I bought mine ages ago because it appears that the prices have increased (or have I imagined that)?

    Mis-selling beads...again!!!

Why is it that you feel the need to attack Supersandy? I was aghast at the original poster making unsubstantiated claims about receiving synthetics without any proof. If you think that my post was aimed at you then you need to turn the mirror and have a long hard look as to why you think that...

    Tiffany diamonds by the yard?

Sacha - here's a link to the spinel. Mmmmmmmm! Lushiousness! http://www.whiteflash.com/gallery/diamond-engagement-rings/halo-spinel-diamond-ring-6001.htm You asked why I recommended a few US sites? Well, Cherub knows the usual suspects to use in the UK so I thought it might be an idea to...

    Tiffany diamonds by the yard?

Even if something is stamped Platinum, it doesn't mean it is unfortunately. Lots of the silver fake Tiffany stuff has a silver mark but it's actually just a base metal. So you need to use extreme caution. I wouldn't necessarily look at the feedback for these vendors. Certainly one of them...

    Tiffany diamonds by the yard?

Most of the Tiffany items on Ebay are fakes I'm afraid. Of course there are exceptions but they're in the minority. If you want a genuine Tiffany then the likelihood is you'll be buying from the US or you'll have to stalk Ebay for any in the UK. Just one idea for you - you know you only pay...

    Jewellery advice please

PJ - I'm sorry that I'm late to your thread. I think your idea is wonderful and if my daughter did that for me I would be thrilled. One thing I would say to take into consideration is that you (presumably) want a ring to last AND I'm guessing that your Mum will probably wear it everyday? If...

Does anyone rate the sex+the city giant silver diamond ring?

I haven't purchased the ring but if you break down the cost (and I know on the face of it, it's high), you have 2.42ct of diamonds. If they have life and sparkle then £400 for them alone is good! Then add in nearly 14g of silver (which is a heavy ring). Again, with silver prices rising that's...

    Mis-selling beads...again!!!

Posts that get personal are unwarranted and show a lack of common decency. I expressed an opinion that is based on fact.

    Mis-selling beads...again!!!

Sorry but I'm aghast at this thread. Flowerchild - How do you KNOW that the picture jasper is a simulant? It's impossible unless you're a gemologist or have access to equipment to confirm. It's been pointed out above that picture jasper can look very very very different and that's part of...

    new postage and late deliveries

After ranting the other day, I have got to say that things appear to be coming out of the bottleneck. I've had far too many packages sitting waiting to be packed and then all of a sudden they're coming thick and fast. HOWEVER, I've had half orders sent and some strands missing. I'm guessing...

    don kogen masterpieces

You've answered your own question I think! No need to be confused! Masterpieces? No. Commanding £xxxxxxxxxxx per carat? Only if somebody is daft enough to buy it! Selling cheap? No. They don't sell anything cheap! It's all hype and dubious exaggerations. I used to love Don Kogan but...

    Red Cuprian 20 ct pendant....

One good reason not to buy from this shoddy bunch? The advert at the top of the page. What are they selling? "Russian" Alexandrite. Yeah, right! FFS how on earth do they stay in business? I'd love to buy this and send it for an origin report to AGL. How much do you want to bet the nearest...

    Help identifying gemstone

Ok - can I just be clear that the only colour stones in the strand are orange, yellow and green? The stones are supposed to be garnet, zircon and sapphire? Well, if so, Zircon isn't often seen in those colours BUT a very pale yellow or darker orangey red would be possible. Green zircon isn't...

    New P&P charges

Ok - I have the hump! I thought using Royal Mail was a good idea (apologies to those who think otherwise). However, if you watch Jewellery Maker and buy from them, not being able to add to orders over the weekend or from one day to the next to the point of despatch is incredibly limiting. I...

Its been a year since "A go at a "constructive" thread" was done.

Yes Sacha - I loved the cut on that one. If it was a lovely strong colour then I'd buy it in a heartbeat but not that colour - I can't wear pale gemstones.

Its been a year since "A go at a "constructive" thread" was done.

No - the one I saw wasn't on tonight! You'll know the one as soon as you see it! It's SOOOOOOO different in terms of colour. It's a Torus but the colour leaps out and smacks you in the face! It may not be on (and I won't be around to watch on Sunday) but you'll know it!!! I have to say I...

Its been a year since "A go at a "constructive" thread" was done.

Arge - I'm so sorry - I completely missed your question about why didn't they know the lighting was so bad? That's interesting and I think it's a combination of different things:- 1. If you watch something all the time, you don't "see" what customers might. 2. Presenters can control the desk...
