Unfortunately it is easy to be taken literally in print online. Even when your comments are either made in a humorous or an ironic way. Look at our dear old Forum friend and likely dual member Saintslad when I posted along the lines of somebody needed to be sectioned for watching/buying some awful show/item a year or so back… Emoticons at the end of a comment can help to signal the true intent of the post.

I just heard that fraud Mike say that for some reason or other he couldn't walk. But then Andy gave him some Emu balm and he could walk again!
