I grew up in North East London and went to a large all boys comprehensive school with probably a 70%/30% ratio of Afro-Caribbean, Asian, Chinese, and Turkish and Greek boys to white boys. For the mid-1970s we all got on pretty well generally. Blacks and whites were mates, as were the rest of most of the diverse ethnic mixes. Sometimes, out of a class of 30 to 35 boys, there were maybe four or five white boys in the class, But there were generally no issues whatsoever that I can recall. The only two races that did seem to really hate one another then were the Turkish Cypriots and the Greek Cypriots. Some real vile insults and actual strong hatreds existed. Although this was the time of the Turkish invasion of the north of Cyprus, so there was some ‘background’ to the vehement dislike one group had for the other.

We do exactly the same. I hate adverts, especially ones that are repeated endlessly for ages and seemingly months or more.
The worst one recently, was I believe for the AA breakdown service featuring a bunch of bank robbers. What pile of poo and it was on constantly. Also ITV the trailers for up coming new series, same clips every ad break.
We very rarely watch live TV now.
I’m of an age to have our first tv around the time ITV started. Although I was very young, to this day I remember certain adverts most of which had catchy jingles

You wonder where the yellow went when you brush your teeth with Pepsodent
Hoover beats as it sweeps as it cleans
Murray mints, Murray mints too good to hurry mints
The Esso sign means happy motoring
A double diamond works wonders (Double Diamond was a beer)

Best prices EVER, Vostok Energia £799.99, that's the best price Kevski has EVER seen for that watch.

It's £695 on Kevski's ebay shop. :eek::ROFLMAO:

Battiola73, I bet you remember:

Nuts, whole hazelnuts, Cadbury's take them and they cover them in chocolate
A Mars a day helps you work, rest and play
The Milky Bars are on me

Funny how I remember the chocolate ads🤣 (I was a child of the 70s...)
