I don't have cracked heels, never have.

But, recently I did buy the Pure Hand Cream in 200mls on sale, actually bought two bottles, very impressed with the product. And I am a hand cream fetish

I have very dry cracking heels. My diabetic nurse prescribed a medicated foot cream containing 25% urea . It does the trick much cheaper over the counter than this Margaret Dabbs’ cream.

I've got very dry hands and feet and always fancied trying M Dabbs but it will be too much money no doubt.

Mr V is diabetic and could do with a good foot cream. Can you tell me the name of the one your nurse recommended EM ? Thanks.

Flexitol with 25% urea. It’s available on Amazon and probably Boots etc, but I get mine on prescription.

Thanks EM I`ll order him some and if it works for him I`ll see if he can get it on prescription. He`s such a pain for refusing to use creams, ointments etc and its the old fashioned miner in him ie anything but a bar of soap is womens stuff !

I used that but I've found the Body Shop Hemp rescuing hand protector has improved my heels. I found it a bit too rich for my hands.

I go to the podiatrist because of diabetes. They keep telling me, whatever I am doing with my feet, keep doing it. I only have to go every 2 years now.

Yes that is the one my diabetic nurse recommends, however l was told they no longer do it on prescription and l have to buy it

I’ve just gone to the NHS app to check my prescriptions - Flexitol has disappeared !

TBS Hemp is amazing. I too found it better on my heels than Flexitol.

The best one I've ever used was a 20% salicylic acid ointment that the pharmacist gave me that she'd made up. It felt like Vaseline (probably was used as the base with the powder mixed in) but did absolute wonders for my dry, rough, hard, cracked heels.

The old, no longer available version of Diprobase worked well at keeping the hard skin at bay without the need for socks on overnight but the new one is pants for that now.

You should request it again. I just had a quick look and it's looks like it's still available in limited sizes on prescription. Check the price against your prescription price as it may be cheaper to buy online.

It's really ****** annoying when they remove something you don't use every month from the list! Would they rather people order more frequently than needed or clog up 'emergency' appointment call lines at 8am in order to get it back on the list?

The NHS is run in the most disjointed and frankly stupid way. Are there now only idiots in charge who can't see what's going wrong or are they just paid so much they don't care?

Many areas have stopped prescriptions for over the counter medications.

Yes if it's cheaper to buy then it sounds like you can't get it.
Anti histamine and paracetamol aren't on prescription anymore. I've heard a few grumble in the pharmacy about having to buy them now,
When we were on the cruise at the end of April I had to visit the medical centre and was prescribed antibiotics. The cheapest thing on the itemised bill was antibiotics,12p each.
