Oh dear Ophelia

I’m not a fan of Ophelia but give the girl a break!
Their are much worse presenters on QVC particularly the two old dinosaurs(one of whom is just a selfish freebie merchant) and the third one who works mainly at night, who dosent even pretend to be interested in the products that she trys to sell.
Ophelia is doing her best and she is more preferable to the above 👍
I agree. She doesn’t bother me, probably because her speech and vocab are familiar. I managed a large team of young clerical staff in London in the 1980’s and 90’s and they chattered like this all day long.

Plus the mother kicks off her flip flops and hits a bloke sat by the pool.
If my brother had been spiteful licking his ice cream when I'd dropped mine I would have shoved his in his face.😆😆
That advert was modelled on my brother. You know the one that saves all his Easter Eggs then taunts you when you've eaten all yours and won't share. The one who clipes to mum when you've done something wrong? He also once threw a dart in my foot and it f***ing hurt. Men.

Catch a glance at this car crash with poor Debra Leigh and the appalling Ophelia Dennis.
OD is one of the worst…! All she wants to do is see herself on the tv screen (imo). Saying that - the “queen” is most irritating of all with her stupid hand gestures, condescention of others constantly and the realisation frequently she “forgets” to be posh - when she puts a at the end of “numba” 😡
OD’s said knackered a number of times now…v unprofessional. Tbh I am just fed up with the childishness of lots of newer presenters - use as a social engagement rather than about the product. Rant over apols

Quite agree. The newer presenters all seem to be so shouty, have squeaky voices and bad diction. Some mumble and I have to rewind to see if I can understand what they’re saying.perhaps they’re aimed at a younger audience. Innit!

'Social engagement' is a perfect definition of how some of the presenters 'present'. A good BA is Carla Laslo (sp?) representing Kim & Co. She describes the products thoroughly and she has a soft voice and never talks over people or interrupts. However, so many times, when she is on late in the evening with Jackie K, she warns us that the upcoming hour could be 'trouble' meaning they will have too much fun and games. She should remember that at whatever time she is on QVC and with whom, she is working. A lighthearted presentation with a couple of jokes is fine, but to treat the whole hour as a time for schoolgirl chat and giggling is inappropriate imo.

Oh yes definitely aimed at a younger audience !

In my opinion that is a rubbish marketing strategy. Even if they add brands & items of interest, very few young people (say under 30) have the time or inclination to watch telly for an hour in the hope that they will buy.

QVC already has the perfect ‘audience’ of older people who like modern, good quality items and have the money to spend.

The Brummie one is now doing her few days. rota. She gabbles away at breakneck speed, and I have trouble catching what she’s saying. I’m a Brummie ( with accent to match!) so my ear is tuned to the accent, but can’t understand her when her voice goes up a couple of octaves and she gets excited. When she was on the other day with Angela Scanlon flogging that overpriced jewellery l cold hardly follow the pair of them ( not that I could bear to watch for long)

I wonder how much business was improved by the recent flurry of No p&p?I read a review on a Diamonique ring which is available in 4 colour ways.Someone had ordered each colour in 2 sizes, what?Think the P&P was £2:95 per item!

I think that’s the one I call Squeaky Beaky. Laura who has just come back after maternity leave. I know it’s awful to say but I hope she has another one soon so she’ll go off on maternity leave again. Same thing for Eyelid Naanbreaf

Unwatchable woman due to her high pitched voice. The accent is fine, but the inability to control her voice is unpardonable for a TV presenter.

I hate to say this (but I will), if QVC want to keep their diversity quotient as is, then it cant be beyond the wit of their HR team to find a person of colour who has experience in selling and is used to being in front of a live camera !!!!
And this is my point precisely - in fact I am sick of it not just with QVC but across every channel as well.

The must do brilliant "show reels" to get past the auditions.
An American woman who auditioned for a job as a QVC presenter told the story of how she had to make an acceptable pitch to sell a giant, wooden spoon and fork wall display. She passed, but how she was able to prattle on about a monstrosity like this for several minutes non stop got her the job. I think that that must be their talent: the ability to go on and on and on.
